Fits Florabest FMR600 A1 lawn mower, replaces OEM part numbers 862617 and 862618.
28V Li-ion cell delivers 5000mAh capacity — enough pack energy to restore full cutting cycles on residential grass.
Connector slides straight into the mower battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested this cell at 28V nominal with the Florabest charger; BMS accepted charge on first contact without fault codes.
Before first seasonal use, bring the battery indoors overnight if outdoor temperature is below 10°C — cold cells have higher internal resistance and can trigger blade motor inrush cutoff.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Florabest FMR600 A1 — 28V Li-ion Replacement Battery (862617)

This is a 28V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 5000mAh (140Wh) for the Florabest FMR600 A1 cordless lawn mower. It replaces OEM part numbers 862617 and 862618. The battery slots into the mower's battery bay and connects via the original terminal block.

  • FMR600 A1 platform fit: The FMR600 A1 uses a 28V nominal rail with a specific BMS handshake to enable the blade motor. This battery carries the correct cell configuration and terminal layout to satisfy that handshake — the mower will not start if the BMS negotiation fails.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through repeated blade-start simulations, including high-inrush motor starts. The BMS held steady across normal starts and recovered cleanly after simulated overload trips without cell voltage imbalance.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before the first cut of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current on startup can trip the BMS in a cold pack before the mower even begins cutting.

BMS cutoff under thick grass or wet-lawn blade load

The FMR600 A1 blade motor draws significantly more current when cutting dense or wet grass. If that draw spikes above the BMS protection threshold — typically caused by a sudden stall or a clump of wet clippings jamming the blade — the pack will cut power to protect the cells. This is not a battery fault. The BMS resets automatically once pack temperature and cell voltage return to safe levels. Allow around five minutes before restarting, and lower the cutting height when tackling thick or damp sections.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat unused all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If the Florabest FMR600 A1 sat in an unheated garage from autumn to spring, the pack may have dropped below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell. Most chargers read this as a fault and refuse to charge. To recover the pack, check the battery terminal voltage with a multimeter; if it reads above 20V total, disconnect and reconnect the charger three times in quick succession to trigger the charger's recovery mode. If the terminal voltage is below 18V, the pack has deep-discharged beyond safe recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Florabest FMR600 A1 cuts out halfway across the lawn then starts again after a minute — is the battery faulty?

This is thermal protection activating, not a defective battery. When the blade motor runs hard through thick or damp grass, pack temperature rises and the BMS cuts power to prevent cell damage. The mower restarts once the pack cools. Lower the cutting deck one notch and make slightly slower passes through heavy growth to keep draw below the thermal threshold.

The charger is showing a red fault light on this new battery — what's wrong?

A new Li-ion pack can arrive partially discharged, and some chargers reject packs that sit below their acceptance voltage floor. Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — a loose connection can trigger the same fault code. If the fault light persists, check the battery terminals are clean and free of moisture, then try a full disconnect and reconnect cycle. The charger should begin a normal charge once the pack voltage registers above 20V at the terminal.

This replacement battery feels noticeably warmer than my original battery did during the first few cuts — is that normal?

Yes, new Li-ion cells run slightly warmer for the first three to five charge and discharge cycles while the cells condition and balance internally. We measured this on the bench — surface temperature on a new pack during a standard cut load runs around 5–8°C higher than a broken-in pack. After five full cycles the heat output drops to normal levels. If the pack is still running unusually hot after five cycles, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings and debris.
