Fits Gateway 100X Pocket PC; replaces OEM part H50B and SX042.
3.7V, 2700mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers full charge to restore PDA boot and runtime.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot; locking tab secures the cell horizontally.
We bench-tested this cell on a Gateway 100X simulator; BMS accepted charge at 0.5A without fault cutoff.
Sync all open files and contacts to your host computer before removing the old battery — PDA RAM loses power when the cell is out, erasing unsaved data.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gateway 100X Pocket PC — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (H50B)

This 3.7V, 2700mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original H50B cell in the Gateway 100X Pocket PC. It fits the 100X handheld PDA directly, restoring power to the unit when the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and physical dimensions match the OEM spec — 38.54 × 62.44 × 3.79mm.

  • Gateway 100X platform fit: The 100X uses a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal with a proprietary connector keyed to the H50B form factor. The BMS on this unit expects a specific charge profile — the replacement cell matches that profile so the device charges normally through its cradle or cable.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 100X platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes. The unit reached full charge voltage and the power management screen reported capacity correctly.
  • Data sync before battery removal: The Gateway 100X stores open application state and unsaved data in RAM powered directly by the main battery. Remove the battery without syncing first and that data is gone. Run an ActiveSync or direct cable sync to the host PC before pulling the old cell.

Why the Gateway 100X loses all open data after a battery swap

The 100X is a RAM-based PDA — the processor, OS state, and any open files live in volatile SRAM that draws power continuously from the main battery. There is no internal backup coin cell to hold that state during a swap. The moment the main cell drops out, RAM loses power and everything not written to flash storage is erased. Sync to a host computer before removal, and restore from that sync after the new battery is seated and charged to at least 3.7V before first boot.

Gateway 100X showing a blank screen after new battery installation

A blank screen on first insertion usually means the replacement cell shipped at storage charge — typically around 3.0–3.2V — which is below the minimum boot threshold the 100X BMS enforces. The device will not start a boot sequence at that voltage. Place the unit in its cradle or connect the charge cable and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.5V, the boot sequence will proceed normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gateway 100X wiped all my contacts and calendar entries when I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it happens because the 100X stores contacts, calendar data, and app state in volatile SRAM powered entirely by the main battery. The moment the old cell comes out, that RAM loses power and clears. Before any future battery swap, run an ActiveSync session to a host PC — this writes that data to persistent storage so you can restore it after the new cell is seated.

The 100X won't boot after installing the new battery — just a blank screen no matter what I press.

The replacement cell ships at storage charge, usually around 3.0–3.2V, and the 100X BMS blocks the boot sequence below roughly 3.5V. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing power. Do not keep tapping the power button during this window — repeated boot attempts drain the cell further and extend the time needed to reach boot voltage.

Wireless sync is dropping constantly since I put the new battery in — it worked fine before.

The 100X radio draws a sharp current spike when it transmits, and at lower charge states that spike causes the battery voltage to sag enough that the radio resets mid-session. This is almost always a charge state issue, not a fault with the cell itself. Charge the battery fully — confirmed at 4.2V — before attempting a wireless sync, and keep the unit on charge during long sync sessions if the connection continues to drop.
