Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Clie PEG-NR60 / NR70 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LISI241)
This 3.7V 1200mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the LISI241 battery in the Sony Clie PEG-NR60, NR60V, NR70, and NR70V. It restores power to the PDA's processor, display, and memory subsystem. Dimensions are 60.81 × 37.16 × 5.40mm — measure your original cell before fitting if you are unsure.
- NR60 and NR70 platform compatibility: Both the NR60 and NR70 lines share the same LISI241 cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement covers the full series without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on NR-series hardware. The BMS accepted the pack cleanly, reported accurate state-of-charge, and held voltage within spec across the full discharge curve.
- Sync before you swap: Perform a full HotSync to your host computer before removing the battery. The Clie NR-series stores open application state and unsaved data in RAM powered directly by the main cell — pulling the battery without syncing first will erase anything not written to Flash storage.
Why the Clie NR60 loses all data after a battery replacement
The NR60 uses SRAM for its working memory, and SRAM requires continuous power to retain data. The moment the old battery is disconnected and before the new one is seated, voltage drops to zero and every byte in RAM is wiped. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a hardware characteristic of the platform. Before swapping, sync all data to a desktop via HotSync and back up any third-party application databases stored in RAM. Restore from the backup immediately after fitting the new battery and completing the first full charge.
Clie NR70 stuck on the Sony logo after fitting a new battery
A new lithium-polymer cell sometimes ships at storage voltage — around 3.5V — which sits below the NR70's minimum boot threshold. The device starts the boot sequence, detects insufficient voltage under load from the display and processor, and stalls. Do not hard reset yet. Connect the original charger and charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the cell reads 3.7V or above at rest, the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Clie NR60 wiped everything when I put in the new battery — did the cell do something wrong?
No — the NR60 stores active data in SRAM, which loses its contents the instant main power drops to zero during a swap. The replacement cell has no role in what happened before it was connected. Always run a full HotSync to your desktop and back up RAM-resident databases before disconnecting the old battery. Restore from that backup after the new cell is seated and charged to 3.7V.
The Clie NR70 won't turn on after fitting this battery — it just freezes on the logo screen.
New lithium-polymer cells ship at storage voltage, typically around 3.5V. That is below what the NR70 needs to power the display and processor together through the boot sequence. Connect the original Sony AC adapter and charge the device for 30 minutes without attempting to turn it on. Once resting voltage reaches 3.7V, power on normally — the freeze will not repeat.
Wireless HotSync keeps dropping on my NR70V since the battery swap — was it working fine before?
The NR70V's wireless radio is sensitive to voltage sag — if the cell is not fully charged, the radio draws more current than the battery can cleanly supply at low state-of-charge, causing the connection to drop mid-transfer. Charge the battery to full before running a wireless sync. If drops continue on a fully charged cell, check that the battery contacts inside the Clie are clean and making firm contact — oxidised pins increase resistance and cause localised voltage sag under radio load.
