Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GIONEE C500 / C600 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-C003)
This is a 3.7V, 1750mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the GIONEE C500 and C600 smartphones. It uses OEM part number BL-C003 and fits the original battery slot without modification. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge through a normal day.
- C500 and C600 compatibility: Both models share the BL-C003 footprint, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake is identical across both devices, so one cell covers either phone without hardware changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the C500 platform. The BMS accepted charge without error flags, and protection circuits tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before switching fast charging back on. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve — without this step, the OS percentage readout can drift by 10–15% within the first week.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GIONEE C500 after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity slope, so the gauge reports 25% remaining when the actual cell voltage has already dropped below what the modem and display need to stay on. The phone's hardware protection cuts power before the OS can react. One full discharge cycle — down to automatic shutdown — followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and eliminates the false cutoff.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. During the first two or three charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into higher resistance, which dissipates more heat at the battery terminals. This is normal and typically drops off after three full cycles as impedance falls. If warmth persists past five cycles or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the charge IC is not stuck in fast-charge mode — drop to standard 5V/1A charging and confirm the temperature normalises within one cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My GIONEE C500 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the battery faulty?
The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it mapped to your old cell, so it reports 25% remaining when the new cell's voltage has already dropped below the threshold the modem needs to stay on. Run one full discharge — let it shut itself off naturally — then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter and the premature shutdowns stop.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery in my C500 — it only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge controller sometimes falls back to standard 5V/1A charging because the new BMS has not yet completed a handshake with the device's USB charge negotiation circuit. Power the phone fully off, connect the original charger, and let it charge to 100% from cold. On the next cycle, fast charging typically resumes. If it does not, check that the charger output is at least 9V/1.5A — the protocol will not engage below that threshold.
The battery percentage on my C600 jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then drops to 40% a few minutes later.
Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration symptom, not a sign of a defective cell. The gauge's internal model is still anchored to your old battery's charge curve and cannot accurately translate the new cell's voltage into a percentage. Avoid topping up the battery in short bursts for the first three cycles — each partial charge adds noise to the calibration. Let the phone discharge fully to shutdown, then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session, and repeat twice more. After three complete cycles the readings stabilise.
