Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yusun Q1 / M1 / M2 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LA20 / LA-20A)
This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell for the Yusun Q1, M1, M2, and M1Y smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers LA20 and LA-20A directly. When the original cell degrades and can no longer hold voltage under screen or modem load, this swap restores normal operation.
- Q1 / M1 / M2 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions (60.45 × 55.61 × 4.80mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Q1 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC held a steady 4.2V cutoff at full charge.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before fast charging pushes high current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a freshly installed cell
A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve than the worn cell it replaces. The phone's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old curve, so it misreads remaining capacity. When modem transmit bursts or screen brightness spikes draw current, the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold — the phone shuts off even though the gauge shows charge remaining. One full discharge cycle down to automatic power-off, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.
Phone won't power on after sitting in storage — BMS lockout
If a replacement cell has been stored discharged for an extended period, the cell voltage can drop below 2.5V per cell — the threshold where most BMS circuits lock out to prevent damage. Plugging straight into a wall charger often shows nothing on screen. Connect via USB to a powered computer first; the lower current draw (500mA) is enough to nudge the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold without tripping overcurrent protection. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, switch to a wall adapter to complete the charge normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Yusun Q1 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old, degraded cell's voltage curve, and it's misreading the new cell's state of charge. Under a sudden load spike — modem, screen, or a demanding app — voltage sags and the BMS trips a protective shutdown before the gauge hits zero. Run one complete discharge to automatic power-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. That single cycle forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell, and the premature shutdowns should stop.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Q1 — the phone just trickle charges now.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC often defaults to a slow pre-charge current because it doesn't yet have impedance data for the new cell. This is normal protective behaviour — the IC is probing the cell before committing high current. Let one full charge complete at the trickle rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. On the second cycle, the IC recognises the cell's impedance profile and re-enables the faster charge rate. If fast charging still doesn't return after two full cycles, check that the USB cable supports the required current — a data-only cable will limit charge current regardless of the charger.
The battery percentage on my Yusun Q1 jumps around erratically — it went from 60% to 34% in two minutes without heavy use.
Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration symptom, not a sign of a defective cell. The coulomb counter accumulated error over the life of the old cell, and it carries that error into the first few cycles with the new one. The fix is the same full recalibration cycle: discharge the phone until it shuts itself off, then charge to 100% in one session at standard rate with fast charge off. After one or two cycles, the IC re-anchors its reference points and percentage reporting stabilises. If jumps persist beyond three full cycles, check that the replacement cell voltage reads at least 3.7V with a multimeter before installation.
