Fits Golf Buddy CT2 and DSC-CT2-100 models, replacing OEM part AEE542730P6H.
3.7V, 550mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 2.04Wh to power GPS receiver and display through full rounds.
Connector slides straight into battery slot with single locking tab on left side.
We bench-tested this cell in CT2 hardware; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without fault codes.
After installing this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow ten minutes for cold satellite acquisition before navigating — GPS performs extended startup after battery swap versus faster warm restarts on subsequent uses.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Golf Buddy CT2 / DSC-CT2-100 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AEE542730P6H)

This 3.7V, 550mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original AEE542730P6H battery in the Golf Buddy CT2 and DSC-CT2-100 GPS rangefinders. These handheld devices use GPS to measure distances to greens and hazards during a round. Swapping a degraded cell restores full operating voltage to the GPS receiver and display.

  • CT2 and DSC-CT2-100 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS cutoff and charge termination thresholds are identical across both, so one cell covers either unit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the CT2 platform. The BMS accepted charge termination cleanly at 4.2V and held low-voltage cutoff without false trips under GPS receiver and display load.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition: After fitting this cell, power the device on outdoors and allow it to acquire a full satellite fix before heading to the first tee. Removing all power clears the GPS receiver's ephemeris data, triggering a cold start that can take 5–10 minutes for first fix — subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the CT2

When cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, some CT2 units reduce GPS receiver sensitivity to protect the remaining charge. This shows up as increased distance scatter or slower position updates mid-round. It is not a fault with the receiver itself — it is a power management response. A fresh cell at full charge eliminates the condition immediately.

CT2 shutting off mid-round without a low-battery warning

An aged Li-Polymer cell loses capacity unevenly — the voltage can appear stable on the indicator until the cell hits BMS cutoff threshold suddenly. The CT2's battery gauge is calibrated against a new cell's discharge curve, so a degraded cell reaches cutoff before the on-screen indicator registers critical. The fix is a replacement cell with a full-capacity discharge curve. After fitting this battery, run one full charge cycle before your next round to let the gauge re-calibrate against 4.2V to 3.4V range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Golf Buddy CT2 lost all my saved courses after I replaced the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The CT2 stores course maps in flash memory, which survives a power removal, but user-configured data such as round history and personal settings may be held in battery-backed RAM. A full power interruption during a swap can clear that volatile memory. Re-download any missing course data via the Golf Buddy update tool and set your preferences again — the GPS hardware itself is unaffected.

The CT2 is taking ages to find satellites after the battery swap — what's happening?

This is a cold start, not a fault. The GPS receiver caches satellite orbital data (ephemeris) in memory powered by the battery. Pull that power out and the cache clears. The receiver has to rebuild it from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Stand outside and hold the device level — once it locks, every subsequent start will be under a minute.

My CT2 shows a healthy battery level but the distance readings start jumping around toward the end of a round — what causes that?

At low cell voltage, the CT2 steps down power to the GPS receiver to protect against a hard cutoff. Reduced receiver power means fewer satellites tracked and weaker signal processing, which shows up as erratic distance figures. The battery indicator often still reads one bar at this point because the gauge curve doesn't map accurately to a partially degraded cell. Charge the unit fully before your next round — if the problem reappears early, the original cell has degraded past useful capacity and needs replacing.
