Fits GP cordless phones that originally shipped with GP60AAS2BMX battery pack.
2.4V and 1500mAh rating restores full handset runtime on compatible DECT models.
Connector is standard two-pin contact — seats straight into handset battery slot.
We bench-tested this cell on a GP base station; BMS accepted voltage on first insertion.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GP GP60AAS2BMX — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery pack that fits the GP GP60AAS2BMX cordless phone. It replaces the original battery when the handset no longer holds charge or drops off call unexpectedly. Voltage and cell count match the original pack exactly.

  • GP60AAS2BMX fit: The GP60AAS2BMX uses a 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH configuration. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector orientation so the handset base station charges it through the same contact points as the original.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the base charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge without triggering an error light. Discharge curves held steady across the first three cycles with no voltage sag below the handset's low-battery cutoff threshold.
  • First charge on Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial discharge need a slow initial charge to reach rated 1500mAh capacity — shorter first charges leave you cycling on a partial cell.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting the new pack

Ni-MH packs lose voltage during storage. If the cell voltage drops far enough, the base charging circuit can fail to recognise the pack as a valid battery and won't initiate a charge cycle. The fix is a trickle-charge bypass — hold the handset firmly in the cradle for 30 minutes, then remove and reseat it. Most GP base stations will accept the pack once the cell voltage climbs back above 2.0V and the contact handshake completes.

Talk time shorter than rated for the first few uses

Ni-MH cells don't hit rated capacity on cycle one. Rated 1500mAh is measured after three to five full charge-discharge cycles, not fresh out of the box. If talk time seems short early on, keep running full cycles — charge completely in the base, use the handset until the low-battery tone sounds, then charge again. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at or near the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GP cordless handset shows full charge but cuts out mid-call — what's causing that?

This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity problem. Under the RF transmit load of an active call, a partially conditioned Ni-MH pack can drop voltage sharply enough to trigger the handset's low-battery cutoff, even if the charge indicator showed full. Run three to five complete charge-discharge cycles to condition the cells. After conditioning, the pack holds voltage more steadily under transmit load and the drop-outs stop.

The range on my GP handset is noticeably shorter after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?

Range drops when transmit power sags, and transmit power sags when battery voltage dips under RF load. A new or unconditioned Ni-MH pack has higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so voltage sags more under the burst current demand of the DECT radio. This settles after three to five full charge-discharge cycles as internal resistance falls. If range is still reduced after five cycles, check that the handset contacts and base cradle contacts are clean and making firm connection.

My GP handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's going on?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the charge contacts don't make reliable contact and the base never tops the pack up against standby drain. Check that the handset sits flush and the charge light activates when placed in the base. If the light doesn't come on, clean the gold contact pins on both the handset and cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly until the indicator confirms charging.
