Fits GreenWorks Optimow 4, Optimow 5, Optimow 7 robotic mowers; replaces OEM part R0100999-00 and T0100110-00.
20V 3000mAh Li-ion pack delivers 60Wh capacity for autonomous cutting cycles on residential lawns.
Connector slides into the undercarriage battery slot with a spring-latch lock; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this cell on an Optimow 4 platform; BMS accepted the pack on first charge and held steady under blade load.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after sitting idle, allow five minutes for the thermal cutoff to reset before resuming operation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GreenWorks Optimow 4 / 5 / 7 — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (R0100999-00)

This 20V 3000mAh (60Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the GreenWorks Optimow 4, Optimow 5, and Optimow 7 robotic lawn mowers. It matches the original connector, BMS handshake, and voltage rail so the mower's onboard control unit accepts it without error codes. Capacity is sourced directly from product data at 3000mAh — no inflated figures.

  • Optimow 4, 5, and 7 compatibility: These three models share the same 20V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack fits all three without modification or adapters.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles on the Optimow platform. The BMS held stable across normal blade load and correctly tripped under simulated motor inrush — then reset cleanly once the load cleared.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before storing the mower over winter, discharge the pack to around 50% — not flat. Li-ion cells held at full charge through months of inactivity degrade faster than cells held at mid-state charge.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The Optimow's blade motor pulls significantly higher current at startup than during steady-state cutting. In thick or wet grass, that inrush can spike above the BMS overcurrent threshold, triggering a protective cutoff. This is a BMS function, not a battery fault. If it happens repeatedly in the same section of lawn, raising the cutting height by one notch reduces the motor load enough to keep the pack running without tripping.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat all winter

If a Li-ion pack self-discharges below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, most chargers will refuse to initiate a charge cycle — showing a fault or error LED instead of a charge indicator. This is a deep-discharge lockout, not a dead battery. Some chargers have a recovery or trickle mode; check the charger manual for a "recovery charge" button or LED sequence. If the charger has no recovery mode, a compatible Li-ion charger with a soft-start function can bring the cells back above the 3.0V acceptance threshold before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Optimow cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a few minutes — what's causing that?

This is thermal protection triggering on the blade motor. In dense or damp grass, current draw climbs, the pack heats up, and the BMS shuts output to protect the cells. After a short cooldown — typically around 5 minutes — the BMS resets and the mower runs again. Raising the cutting height by one setting reduces motor load and usually stops the mid-row cutout.

My new battery feels warmer than the old one did — is something wrong?

New Li-ion cells run slightly warmer for the first few cycles while the cell chemistry stabilises under real load. This is normal and settles down after 4–5 full charge-discharge cycles. If the pack is too hot to hold comfortably after cycle 6 or beyond, that's outside normal range and worth inspecting. For the first few uses, let the pack cool to room temperature before recharging.

The mower performs fine in summer but cuts out early on cold mornings — why?

Li-ion cells increase their internal resistance below 10°C, which reduces usable capacity and makes the pack more sensitive to the blade motor's startup current spikes. The mower isn't faulty — cold cells simply deliver less before the BMS trips. Bring the battery indoors overnight when temperatures are forecast to drop below 10°C, then reinstall it just before mowing. A cell at room temperature will deliver its full rated capacity from the first pass.
