Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Ambrogio Nemh2o — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (045Z298000A)
This 25.2V 17000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Ambrogio Nemh2o robotic lawn mower. It matches the OEM voltage rail and BMS handshake required for autonomous mowing cycles. Capacity is drawn from the product specification: 428.4Wh.
- Nemh2o platform fit: The Nemh2o runs a 25.2V (6S Li-ion) architecture with a proprietary BMS communication line. Any replacement must match that cell configuration exactly — mismatched voltage profiles cause the mower's onboard controller to reject the pack at startup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full discharge and recharge sequences, monitoring the BMS cutoff thresholds under simulated blade-motor inrush loads. The protection circuit held correct cutoff voltage and recovered cleanly after load events.
- Seasonal storage tip: If the mower sits unused for more than six weeks, check the pack voltage before reinstalling — the Nemh2o charger will refuse a pack that has self-discharged below approximately 20V. Store the battery at around 50% charge, not fully depleted.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load
The Nemh2o blade motor draws a sharp inrush current when it bites into dense or waterlogged grass — easily two to three times the steady-state draw. The BMS reads this spike as an overcurrent event and disconnects the pack to protect the cells. This is not a battery fault; it is the protection circuit doing its job. If cutouts happen repeatedly in heavy conditions, reduce the mowing zone to shorter passes so blade load stays within the BMS threshold.
Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month at room temperature — faster in an unheated garage. After several months of storage, the pack can drop below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage, causing the charger to flag a fault rather than begin charging. If this happens, check the pack terminal voltage with a multimeter. A reading above 18V generally means the charger's trickle-charge mode can recover the pack; below that, the cells may be too far discharged to recover safely.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Nemh2o keeps stopping mid-row in long or wet grass — is the battery faulty?
This is a BMS trip caused by blade motor inrush current exceeding the pack's overcurrent threshold, not a faulty battery. Dense or waterlogged grass forces the motor to draw a sharp load spike that the BMS reads as a fault condition. The pack resets automatically once load drops, which is why the mower often restarts after a short pause. If it happens repeatedly, let the mower cool for five minutes and reduce the cutting area to shorten each pass.
My Nemh2o charger flashes a fault code on a brand-new battery — what's wrong?
Charger fault on a new pack usually means the cells arrived below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage after transit and warehouse storage. Measure the pack terminals with a multimeter — if you read above 20V, the charger's trickle mode should eventually accept the pack; try holding the charge button for ten seconds to force trickle initiation. If the reading is below 18V, the pack has discharged too deeply in storage and should be returned. A healthy new pack should arrive at 22V or above.
Why does the Nemh2o mow a noticeably shorter area on the first cold morning of spring?
Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance below 10°C, which reduces the usable capacity the BMS allows the mower to draw. This is a normal electrochemical behaviour, not a defective battery. The effect is most pronounced on the first run of the season when the pack is cold through. Bring the battery indoors overnight before the first spring use — a pack at 20°C will deliver its full rated capacity where the same pack at 5°C may lose 15–20% of usable output.
