Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Grundig LC-280 / LC-380HE / LC-835E Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 7.4V 2600mAh (19.24Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Grundig LC-280, LC-380HE, LC-835E, LC-855HE, and nine additional LC-series digital cameras. It fits the same battery bay and connector as the factory cell. Use it as a direct swap or carry it as a spare for longer shoots.
- LC-series shared battery platform: These Grundig camera models draw from the same 7.4V battery rail and use the same physical housing dimensions — 70.80 × 38.50 × 23.20mm. One cell covers the full model spread without any adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on compatible LC-series hardware. The BMS communicated correctly with the camera body, passed the charge-state handshake, and held voltage within the expected discharge curve without tripping the protection circuit.
- First-cycle calibration in the camera body: On first install, run a full charge from within the camera body or via an OEM-compatible charger before heavy shooting. Some LC-series bodies only accept accurate battery-remaining readings after completing one full charge cycle with the new cell inside the body itself.
Flash recycling slowdown late in the charge cycle on LC-series cameras
As the cell approaches the lower end of its discharge curve, output voltage drops slightly but measurably. The flash capacitor draws a fixed recharge current, and at reduced pack voltage that recharge takes longer. You'll notice the ready-light taking more time between shots before the battery reads empty. This isn't a fault with the cell — it's the camera's power circuit working within spec. Keeping a second charged cell in your bag is the practical fix for flash-heavy work.
Battery percentage jumping or displaying incorrectly after fitting a new cell
The LC-series battery indicator maps display segments to specific voltage thresholds calibrated against the original factory cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell can discharge at a slightly different rate through the mid-range, causing the indicator to skip segments or read higher than actual. This usually corrects itself after one or two full charge-discharge cycles as the camera body resets its voltage-to-percentage mapping. If the display still reads erratically after two cycles, discharge to 3.0V per cell (6.0V pack total) before the next full charge to force a full recalibration pass.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Grundig LC-series camera shows a dead battery icon the moment I fit this replacement, even though the cell is fully charged — what's happening?
Some Grundig LC-series bodies run a BMS authentication check on first contact with a new cell and reject it before reading charge state. Power the camera off completely, remove the battery, reinsert it, and power back on. If the icon persists, place the cell in the camera body and run a full charge via the OEM charger — one complete in-body charge cycle is usually enough for the body to accept the cell and display correctly.
My shot count with this battery is noticeably lower than what I was getting with the original cell — is something wrong?
Shot count drops when the camera is running the flash, continuous autofocus, image stabilisation, or recording video alongside stills — each adds real draw beyond the CIPA baseline figure. Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. Check which features were active during your session; disabling continuous AF or reducing flash frequency between shots will bring the count closer to what you expect from a 2600mAh pack at 7.4V.
The camera body gets noticeably warm during sustained video recording on a new battery — is that a cell fault?
The warmth comes from the camera's sensor, processor, and image stabilisation system running simultaneously, not from the battery itself. Combined draw during video is significantly higher than during stills shooting, and the camera body dissipates that heat through its chassis. Check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated — poor contact increases resistance and adds heat at the connection point. If the body is hot enough to trigger an overheat warning, reduce clip length or allow a cool-down interval between recordings.
