Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yongnuo LED YN-600 RGB 3200-5500K CRI 95+ — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 7.4V 2600mAh (19.24Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the battery used in the Yongnuo LED YN-600 RGB and a broad range of compatible Yongnuo LED panel models including the YN-216 and YN-300 AIR PRO series. It slots into the battery compartment at the rear of the panel and powers the RGB LED array, driver board, and control electronics. Voltage and capacity match the original specification.
- YN-600 RGB and YN-216 platform compatibility: These panels share a common NP-F style battery slot, 7.4V nominal voltage rail, and draw profile. The LED driver and colour-temperature control circuit both pull from the same cell, so voltage tolerance across the battery's discharge curve matters — this cell holds above the 6.8V cutoff that keeps the panel stable through a full colour temperature sweep from 3200K to 5500K.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the YN-600 RGB panel at full CRI 95+ output across both colour temperature extremes. The BMS held stable across the draw cycle, with no mid-session voltage collapse or thermal trip. Output stayed consistent from full charge down to the protection cutoff.
- First-use conditioning on LED panels: Yongnuo LED panels with a battery indicator display may show inaccurate charge percentage on the first cycle with a new cell. Run the battery from full charge to full depletion once — let the panel shut itself off naturally — then recharge completely. This calibrates the indicator to the new cell's discharge curve.
Why the YN-600 RGB dims or shifts colour at the low end of the charge cycle
The YN-600 RGB's LED driver is not fully regulated at all power levels. As cell voltage drops below roughly 7.0V during discharge, the driver board begins to lose headroom, and both brightness and colour accuracy can shift slightly — this is most visible at 3200K where the warm LED array draws more current. It is not a fault with the cell. Keeping a second charged battery on hand and swapping before the indicator reaches the final bar eliminates colour drift in critical shots.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the YN panel display
Yongnuo's panel indicator maps battery percentage to fixed voltage thresholds tuned for the original cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different internal resistance will hit those thresholds at different points in its cycle, causing the display to jump — for example, skipping from 75% to 40% without warning. This is a display calibration issue, not a capacity fault. Run one full discharge cycle as described above and the display will settle to more consistent readings across subsequent charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
The YN-600 RGB panel shut off suddenly mid-shoot — is the cell faulty or is it the BMS tripping?
At high brightness and CRI 95+ settings, the YN-600 RGB draws enough current that a low cell will hit the BMS undervoltage cutoff abruptly rather than dimming gradually — it looks like a sudden failure but is a protection trip. Check the resting voltage of the cell with a multimeter; if it reads above 7.0V within a few minutes of the shutdown, the cell is fine and the panel cut out correctly at the end of the discharge. Recharge fully and the panel will operate normally.
The battery percentage on my YN-216 dropped from 60% to empty in what felt like seconds — what happened?
Yongnuo's multi-LED panels use a stepped voltage threshold display rather than a true fuel gauge. A new replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the original, so the final voltage steps can compress — the indicator holds at one bar for a long time, then the BMS cutoff trips before the display reaches zero. This is normal behaviour with a new cell. After one full discharge-and-recharge cycle, the drop-off point becomes more predictable.
The YN-300 AIR PRO runs noticeably cooler on AC but the battery-powered output looks slightly different — why?
When powered by battery, the YN-300 AIR PRO's driver circuit operates within the voltage window of the cell rather than a regulated DC input, so there is a small variation in delivered current as the cell discharges. This can produce a barely perceptible shift in colour temperature or brightness compared to mains power. It is not a replacement cell issue — the same effect occurs with the OEM battery. For colour-critical work requiring absolute consistency, use the AC adapter and treat the battery as a backup or location option.
