Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GSmart T4 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1ICP4/56/74)

This is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the GSmart T4, T4 Lite, and T4 Lite Edition smartphones. It replaces OEM part number 1ICP4/56/74 and restores power to devices with degraded or failed original cells. Capacity is rated at 4.63Wh.

  • T4, T4 Lite, and T4 Lite Edition compatibility: All three variants share the same 3.7V cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirement — this single cell fits across the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the T4 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This allows the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GSmart T4 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's actual voltage drops under modem or screen load, the IC hasn't recalibrated — it misreads remaining capacity and the phone shuts down before the percentage reaches zero. The fix is one full, uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle with fast charging off. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's actual curve and the shutdowns stop.

Phone shows incorrect battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC on the T4 calibrates its percentage readings against a stored model of the previous cell's discharge curve. Swapping in a new cell doesn't automatically reset that model — the IC keeps reading against old data. Percentage jumps, stalls, or reads high until a full cycle forces a recalibration. Drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with the screen off to complete the reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GSmart T4 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?

It's likely a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. If the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage, the protection circuit cuts all output to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working on my T4 after I put in the new battery — it only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC defaults to a reduced current rate while it negotiates with the new BMS. This is normal and not a fault. Run one complete charge cycle at the slow rate, then plug in again — the fast charge protocol re-establishes once the IC confirms the new cell's impedance profile is within spec. If slow charging persists past the second cycle, check the USB port for debris.

The battery percentage on my GSmart T4 jumps erratically — it reads 45%, drops to 12%, then jumps back up.

The coulomb counter is recalibrating against a new cell discharge curve it hasn't fully mapped yet. The old curve stored in the fuel gauge IC doesn't match the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship, so percentage readings are unstable under load. Discharge the phone completely until it shuts itself off, then charge to 100% in one session with the screen off. That forces the fuel gauge IC to rewrite its reference curve against the actual cell.
