Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HandHeld Nautiz X2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NX2-1004)
This 3.7V 4000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the HandHeld Nautiz X2 rugged mobile computer. The Nautiz X2 is a field-grade handheld used in warehousing, logistics, and field data collection. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly — no firmware flags, no capacity warnings on the status bar.
- Nautiz X2 platform fit: The Nautiz X2 uses a single-cell 3.7V nominal architecture with a locked BMS handshake tied to the pack's internal thermistor circuit. This replacement carries a matched thermistor so the device reads temperature data correctly and does not reject the pack at first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless polling loads simultaneously — the BMS held the output rail stable across the combined inrush without tripping or throttling the imager power supply.
- First-shift prep for pick-and-pack environments: Before the first shift, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell sits near minimum state of charge — a fully charged pack avoids false BMS low-voltage trips the moment the imager fires on the first scan.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Charging docks on rugged handhelds like the Nautiz X2 check contact resistance before enabling the charge circuit. If the gold pogo pins on the pack or dock accumulate oxidation or debris, resistance reads high and the cradle faults out rather than charge. Remove the battery, wipe the contacts on both the pack and the dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears, begin a full charge cycle before deploying the unit.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
On the Nautiz X2, the imager and the wireless radio draw from the same cell simultaneously during high-frequency scanning. If the cell's internal resistance is elevated — common in aged packs — the combined inrush causes a momentary voltage sag that drops the radio below its minimum operating threshold. The connection drops, the device re-associates, and throughput stalls. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance keeps the voltage rail above 3.5V under combined load, preventing the dropout.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Nautiz X2 won't read barcodes after I swapped in a new battery — what's wrong?
The Nautiz X2 imager needs the cell above a minimum voltage before it will fire at full power — if the replacement pack shipped at a low state of charge, the imager may not have enough headroom to trigger correctly. Place the unit in its charging cradle immediately after swapping the battery and run a full charge cycle before your first scan. We confirmed on the bench that the scanner reads reliably once the cell is above 3.9V. Do not attempt high-volume scanning until the charge indicator shows full.
The Nautiz X2 feels noticeably warm after a long shift — is something wrong with the battery?
Sustained combined load — continuous scanning plus active wireless polling — generates heat inside the enclosed housing of the Nautiz X2, and this is normal under heavy field use. What matters is whether the device gets hot enough to trigger the BMS thermal cutoff, which will shut down the unit mid-shift. If that's happening, check that ventilation slots on the housing are clear and reduce scan burst frequency where possible. If the unit stays warm but keeps operating without shutting down, the thermal load is within tolerance.
The Nautiz X2 is lasting noticeably less through a shift than it did with the old battery — what causes that?
Short shift endurance on the Nautiz X2 is almost always caused by scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval working together against the cell. High-frequency barcode scanning combined with continuous Wi-Fi or Bluetooth association draws far more current than either load alone. Check your wireless polling settings in the device network configuration — reducing the polling interval from continuous to a fixed cycle cuts idle radio draw significantly. If endurance is still short after adjusting polling, check whether the battery status screen shows capacity below 3800mAh, which indicates a cell that did not fully initialise on the first charge cycle.
