Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell CT47 / CT45 — 3.87V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CT4X-BTSC)
This is a 3.87V, 4700mAh Li-ion battery for the Honeywell CT47 and CT45 mobile computers. It replaces OEM parts CT4X-BTSC and CT4X-BTSC-01. These handhelds are used in warehouse, retail, and logistics environments where a dead cell means a stalled pick line.
- CT47 and CT45 compatibility: Both models run the same voltage rail and use an identical battery bay with the same BMS handshake protocol. One battery services both devices across a mixed fleet without any wiring or firmware differences to manage.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through rapid-fire scan bursts combined with active Wi-Fi polling. The BMS handled the combined inrush without a false cutoff trip, and cell voltage held flat across the mid-range of the discharge curve.
- First-shift preparation for CT47 / CT45: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger draws the highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum, and starting from a full charge prevents false BMS trips during that first burst.
Cradle showing charging error on a new CT4X-BTSC pack
A charging error on a fresh pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a faulty cell. The CT47 cradle uses spring-loaded dock contacts that collect dust and oxidation quickly in warehouse environments. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, then firmly reseat the device. If the error clears within 30 seconds, the cell is fine and charging will proceed normally.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The CT47 runs its imager and its Wi-Fi radio simultaneously, and a rapid scan burst spikes the combined current draw sharply. If the cell is already depleted, this inrush can pull cell voltage below the BMS protection threshold momentarily, causing the radio stack to drop. The device may reconnect within seconds but will log the drop as a wireless fault. Keeping the cell above 20% charge during high-frequency scanning eliminates this — check the battery indicator before starting any high-volume scan session.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CT47 stops reading barcodes right after I swap in a new battery — is the battery dead already?
The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or illumination array, and a new pack sitting in stock can self-discharge low enough to trigger this. The scanner is not faulty and the battery is not dead. Seat it in the cradle and complete a full charge cycle before use. Once the cell is at full charge, the imager will fire without hesitation.
The CT47 feels warm after a full warehouse shift — is something wrong with the pack?
Heat is normal when the scanner is sustaining both continuous Wi-Fi polling and frequent scan triggers inside an enclosed plastic housing with limited airflow. A surface temperature that is warm to the touch but not hot is within expected range for this workload. If the device becomes hot enough to trigger a thermal warning on screen, check whether the scan burst frequency has increased — sustained high-frequency scanning on a low-ventilation mount amplifies heat build-up. Reduce dwell time in the holster between scans to allow the housing to shed heat.
This CT47 battery doesn't last as long as the original did when it was new — what's draining it faster?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest variables that change over a device's service life without anyone adjusting them deliberately. Wi-Fi roaming events — when the scanner hands off between access points during movement — spike current draw significantly, and a warehouse with poor AP coverage causes constant roaming. Check the network signal strength indicator during a typical shift; if it drops below two bars regularly, the radio is working harder than it should. Improving AP coverage near the scan aisles will reduce that draw and restore expected shift endurance.
