Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell CW45 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CW45-BAT)
This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery for the Honeywell CW45 mobile computer. It fits the CW45 handheld terminal used in warehouse, logistics, and retail scan environments. OEM part numbers CW45-BAT, CW45-BAT-S, and 3010-8461-001 all cross to this pack.
- CW45 platform fit: The CW45 uses a dedicated battery bay with a three-contact interface tied directly to the BMS. The connector layout and contact pitch on this pack match that bay exactly, so the terminal handshakes with the BMS without error codes or charge refusals.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst sequences on a CW45 unit and monitored BMS behaviour across the discharge curve. The protection circuit held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full cradle charge without fault flags.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, place the CW45 in its charging cradle for a complete charge cycle before use. Scan trigger inrush current spikes highest when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents the BMS from tripping on that first burst during a pick-and-pack shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
A charging error on a fresh pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a battery fault. Dock contacts on high-use cradles accumulate oxidation and debris that interrupts the BMS communication line. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, and reseat firmly. If the cradle clears the error and begins charging, the contacts were the cause — not the cell.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The CW45 draws simultaneously from the wireless radio and the imager during rapid scanning sequences. When both loads hit at once, a degraded or partially charged cell can sag below the voltage floor the radio needs to hold its connection. The BMS doesn't trip, but the radio drops. Charge the pack fully before a high-volume shift and confirm cell voltage reads above 3.6V at rest before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CW45 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — imager powers on but scans fail. What's wrong?
The imager needs a stable voltage above its minimum operating threshold to fire correctly — if the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be just high enough to power the screen but too low for a clean imager trigger. Put the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before scanning. We saw this exact behaviour on the bench when we tested with a cell at 30% charge — scan failures cleared immediately once the pack was fully charged.
The CW45 runs noticeably shorter shifts than the old battery did even when fully charged. What causes that?
Shift endurance on the CW45 depends on how hard the two biggest draws — the wireless radio and the scan trigger — overlap during your workflow. High scan-burst frequency in a small warehouse with weak Wi-Fi signal forces the radio to transmit at higher power while the imager is also firing, which doubles the load versus a relaxed scanning pace. Check your Wi-Fi access point placement first; moving the scanner closer to an AP measurably reduces radio draw per shift. If the access point spacing is already good, confirm the replacement pack is completing a full cradle charge cycle before each shift.
The CW45 gets noticeably warm during extended warehouse shifts. Is that a battery problem or something else?
Heat build-up after long shifts is a combined effect — sustained scan-trigger load plus continuous wireless polling inside an enclosed housing with limited airflow. The battery itself generates some heat during discharge, but the imager and radio contribute roughly equally. If the pack is warm to the touch but the scanner is functioning normally, that is within expected range for heavy-duty use. If the housing becomes hot enough to cause discomfort or the BMS trips and shuts the unit down, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — poor contact increases resistance and adds heat at the connection point.
