Fits Honeywell CT30 XP and CT30 XP HC barcode scanners; replaces OEM part numbers CT30P-BTSC-001 and CT30P-BTSC-002.
3.87V and 3350mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full scan-trigger power and sustained wireless connectivity throughout warehouse and retail shifts.
Connector seats vertically into the scanner battery slot with a single locking tab; contact surfaces require a dry wipe before install.
We bench-tested the cell against a CT30 XP unit running continuous barcode scans and wireless polling; the BMS accepted the pack without fault codes.
After installing this cell, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell CT30 XP / CT30 XP HC — 3.87V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CT30P-BTSC-001)

This 3.87V, 3350mAh (12.96Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the CT30P-BTSC-001 and CT30P-BTSC-002 OEM packs. It fits both the Honeywell CT30 XP and CT30 XP HC mobile computers — the same cell form factor and BMS handshake protocol covers both variants. Swap it out when your scanner starts dying partway through a shift.

  • CT30 XP and CT30 XP HC compatibility: Both models run the same 3.87V battery rail, use the same physical connector, and expect the same BMS communication. One replacement pack covers both variants without firmware differences or adapter changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated scan-burst loads — alternating imager trigger pulls and active wireless polling — and confirmed the BMS held voltage without false low-cell trips or thermal flags across the full discharge curve.
  • First-shift install tip: After installing, dock the scanner for a complete charge cycle before putting it into pick-and-pack rotation. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge, and a pre-charged pack prevents the BMS from tripping on the first heavy burst of the shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new CT30 XP pack

The CT30 XP charging cradle checks BMS communication through the battery contact pins before it starts a charge cycle. If those contacts have any residue — oil from handling, warehouse dust, or oxidation from a previous pack — the dock reads a handshake failure and throws a charging error. The fix is almost always mechanical, not a faulty battery. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and check that the charging LED turns solid within 10 seconds.

Scanner not reading barcodes after a battery swap

The CT30 XP imager requires a stable voltage above the minimum operating threshold before the scan engine will fire. If you swap in a partially discharged replacement pack, the first trigger pull can pull voltage below that floor and the scanner returns a blank read — not a scan failure, just insufficient power. This is commonly mistaken for a faulty battery or a broken imager. Dock the unit for a full charge cycle first, then test the scan trigger — imager response should be immediate at full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CT30 XP keeps dropping the wireless connection during fast barcode scanning — is this the battery?

Yes, this is a combined inrush problem. The imager trigger and the Wi-Fi radio both draw current simultaneously during a rapid scan burst, and if the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio drops its connection before the scan engine fails. A degraded or deeply discharged battery makes this worse. Charge the replacement pack fully before use and check that your Wi-Fi channel isn't congested — both contribute to the symptom.

The scanner feels warm after a long warehouse shift — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected. The CT30 XP generates heat from sustained imager use, active wireless polling, and the battery's own internal resistance under continuous draw — all inside a sealed housing with limited airflow. What's not normal is the battery compartment being hot to the touch, which points to a cell with elevated internal resistance, usually a sign the old pack needs replacing. A new pack running the same workload should feel warm, not hot.

Our new CT30 XP battery isn't lasting as long as the original did when it was new — what's different?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest variables. A picker scanning every few seconds with live Wi-Fi sync draws significantly more than one doing periodic batch scans. Check your device's wireless polling settings in Honeywell's device configuration — reducing unnecessary polling cycles between scans recovers measurable capacity per shift without changing hardware.
