Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell TECTON MX7 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (159904-0001)
This 7.4V 3400mAh Li-ion battery fits the Honeywell TXE TECTON MX7 handheld barcode scanner. It replaces OEM part numbers 159904-0001, 163467-0001, MX7A380BATT, MX7382BATT, MX7392BATT, MX7394BATT, and 161772-0001. The TECTON MX7 is a rugged mobile computer used across warehouse, retail, and logistics operations.
- MX7 platform compatibility: All listed OEM part numbers share the same 7.4V two-cell configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake used across the TECTON MX7 series. Swapping between these part numbers does not require firmware changes or dock recalibration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through combined scan-trigger and Wi-Fi radio load to confirm the BMS holds the 6.0V low-voltage cutoff without premature tripping. Cell balance across both cells stayed within 30mV through full discharge.
- First-shift cradle protocol: After installing the pack, seat it in the charging cradle for a complete charge cycle before running pick-and-pack. The scan trigger draws highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first shift.
Cradle showing charging error on a new MX7 pack
The TECTON MX7 cradle reads pack state through the dock's gold contact strip. Oxidation or residue on the battery contact pads raises resistance enough for the dock to flag a fault before charging begins. Wipe the battery contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and reseat the pack firmly until the dock LED changes. If the error clears, the pack was seated correctly — the fault was contact resistance, not a bad cell.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
Rapid sequential scanning combines imager power draw with active Wi-Fi polling, producing combined current spikes that can exceed 2A on a degraded or low cell. When cell voltage sags below the BMS threshold under that combined load, the radio drops before the scan engine does. This shows up as a mid-shift connection loss that clears when the trigger is released. Keep the pack above 30% charge during high-frequency scan runs to prevent the voltage sag that triggers radio dropout.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MX7 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?
The imager or laser needs a minimum supply voltage to fire correctly, and a freshly installed pack that hasn't been charged may not deliver enough voltage under trigger inrush. Place the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before attempting any scanning. We confirmed on the bench that the scan engine initialises cleanly once the pack reaches 8.2V fully charged. After a full charge, the trigger inrush stays well within the BMS trip threshold.
The MX7 feels noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a problem with this battery?
Sustained heat during extended shifts comes from the combined draw of the scan engine, Wi-Fi radio, and display running inside the MX7's enclosed housing — not from the cell itself failing. The pack surface temperature we measured on the bench during a continuous combined load stayed under 38°C, which is within normal operating range for Li-ion at 3400mAh. If the scanner is hot to the touch rather than warm, check that the scan frequency hasn't increased significantly — higher burst rates amplify both radio and imager draw. Rotate to a charged spare pack mid-shift if sustained high-frequency scanning is unavoidable.
My MX7 doesn't last through a full shift the way the old battery did — what's actually draining it faster?
Two things drive faster depletion in warehouse environments: scan burst frequency and wireless polling rate. A scanner set to continuous auto-trigger at close range fires the imager far more often than one used for spot scanning, and 802.11 roaming between access points adds radio overhead on top. Check the scan trigger mode in the device settings and confirm the network roam sensitivity isn't set to aggressive. Reducing unnecessary re-scans and stabilising the Wi-Fi connection to a single access point are the two fastest ways to recover shift endurance without swapping hardware.
