Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell TXE TECTON MX7 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (159904-0001)
This 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Honeywell TXE TECTON MX7 mobile data terminal. It covers OEM part numbers 159904-0001, 163467-0001, 161772-0001, MX7A380BATT, MX7382BATT, MX7392BATT, and MX7394BATT. The MX7 is a rugged handheld scanner used in warehouse picking, inventory control, and logistics operations.
- MX7 platform fit: All listed OEM part numbers run the same 7.4V rail, use the same connector pinout, and communicate through the same BMS handshake the MX7 expects at power-on. Any pack on this list installs and registers correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through scan-trigger and Wi-Fi radio loads simultaneously — the combined inrush that typically trips an underspec BMS. The protection circuit held voltage above the MX7's cutoff threshold throughout the test, and the pack resumed charging normally in the cradle after each discharge.
- First-shift preparation for the MX7: After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before heading to the floor. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum state of charge, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the first pick run of the shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new MX7 pack
The MX7 cradle reads the battery over a dedicated contact strip on the base of the pack. If any of those contacts have oxidation or residue from handling, the dock interprets the high contact resistance as a fault and flags a charging error — even though the pack itself is fine. Wipe the contact strip on the battery with a dry cloth and inspect the cradle's spring pins for debris before reseating. If the error clears on the second seating, the pack is good.
MX7 losing wireless connection during back-to-back scan bursts
Rapid scanning pulls inrush current from the laser or imager at the same moment the Wi-Fi radio is polling the network. The combined draw creates a brief voltage sag on the 7.4V rail. If the pack's internal resistance is high — either from age or a deeply discharged new pack — that sag crosses the MX7's radio hold-up threshold and the wireless stack drops. Charge the pack to full before the shift, and check that cell voltage reads at least 7.2V under load before logging the unit into a picking job.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MX7 scanner isn't reading barcodes at all after I swapped the battery — the trigger clicks but nothing happens
The laser or imager module in the MX7 needs the 7.4V rail to be above a minimum threshold before it fires. A new pack that shipped partially discharged can sit just low enough to prevent the scan engine from activating, even though the terminal appears to power on. Place the unit in the cradle for a full charge cycle first, then re-test. If the scan engine fires normally after charging, the pack was simply too low on arrival.
My MX7 cradle is showing a charging fault light on the new battery but charged the old one fine
The cradle communicates with the pack through a contact strip on the battery's base. Fingerprint oils and packaging residue raise contact resistance enough that the dock interprets it as a fault rather than a valid pack. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and check the spring pins inside the cradle for lint or corrosion. Reseat the battery firmly — the fault light should clear within 30 seconds of a clean connection.
The MX7 feels noticeably warm after a long shift and the battery drains faster than expected — is something wrong?
On extended shifts, the MX7 runs simultaneous Wi-Fi polling, scan-engine firing, and display backlight — all sustained draws in an enclosed housing with limited airflow. That combination generates real heat, and heat accelerates cell self-discharge during the same shift. It is normal for the housing to feel warm, but if the pack voltage reads below 6.8V after a moderate shift, the cell may be cycling in a high-resistance state. Run one full charge/discharge cycle in the cradle to let the BMS recalibrate its state-of-charge estimate.
