Fits HP Pro x2 612 G1 tablet; replaces OEM part KK04XL, HSTNN-IB6E, HSTNN-UB6E, 753703-005.
7.4V and 3800mAh capacity matches original pack output for this hybrid tablet device.
Connector seats into the proprietary HP slot with positive and negative terminals aligned; locking tab clips downward to secure the pack.
We bench-tested this cell on a Pro x2 612 G1 dock and confirmed BMS accepted the handshake without fault codes on first charge cycle.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Pro x2 612 G1 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (KK04XL)

This 7.4V Li-Polymer battery replaces the KK04XL and fits the HP Pro x2 612 G1 detachable tablet. Capacity is 3800mAh (28.12Wh), matching the original cell specification. It covers the full model range including the F1P93EA, K4K76UT, and L5G76EA variants, along with thirteen additional SKUs in the 612 G1 family.

  • 612 G1 tablet compatibility: All Pro x2 612 G1 tablets share the same 7.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol regardless of regional SKU suffix. One battery cell covers the full variant lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 612 G1 platform. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, and the charge IC accepted the full 3800mAh fill without fault codes.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a swap.

Why the Pro x2 612 G1 shuts down at 15–25% remaining

When the display backlight and WiFi radio draw current simultaneously, voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects. If the gauge is still calibrated to an old or degraded cell, it misreads remaining capacity and triggers an early low-voltage shutdown. The tablet cuts power at what appears to be 15–25% because the IC's discharge curve no longer matches the actual cell. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% realigns the curve and stops early shutdowns.

HP Pro x2 612 G1 showing wrong battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC inside the tablet was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC reads voltage and reports an incorrect percentage. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. To fix it, discharge the tablet fully until it powers itself off, then plug it in and charge without interruption to 100% — the IC rewrites its calibration table against the new cell on that first complete cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HP Pro x2 612 G1 is cutting off at around 20% after I put in a new battery — did I get a bad cell?

The battery itself is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC stored a discharge curve matched to the old cell, and it now reads voltage against the wrong reference. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle rewrites the IC's calibration table and the percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my Pro x2 612 G1 after the battery swap — the charger just trickle charges now.

The charge IC on the 612 G1 uses a negotiation handshake before enabling the higher charge rate. On a fresh cell, this handshake sometimes doesn't complete until after the first accepted full charge cycle. Connect the original HP adapter and let it complete one full charge to 100% without interrupting it. If the higher charge rate still doesn't activate after that cycle, verify the adapter output — it must supply at least 10V to trigger the fast-charge path.

The battery percentage on my Pro x2 612 G1 is dropping much faster than it should from 100%, even though the tablet was barely used.

Fast percentage drop from a full charge usually means the fuel gauge IC is drifting — it compressed the top of the discharge curve to match a degraded old cell and is now burning through the reported percentage too quickly. The cell capacity is intact; the readout is wrong. Discharge fully to automatic shutoff and charge back to 100% in one uninterrupted session. Check the percentage drop rate after that recalibration cycle before drawing any conclusions about the battery.
