Fits HP SlateBook 101 tablet; replaces OEM part MA02XL and equivalent cross-reference numbers.
7.4V and 3350mAh capacity sustains the SlateBook 101 display and processor during unplugged operation.
Connector seats into the SlateBook 101 battery slot with standard tablet pack orientation and retention tabs.
We bench-tested this cell in the SlateBook 101 charging circuit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with normal charge curve.
After installation, discharge fully to sleep mode then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS fuel gauge calibration against the new Li-Polymer pack.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP SlateBook 10 X2 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MA02XL)

This is a 7.4V, 3350mAh (24.79Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the HP SlateBook 10 X2 series, including the SlateBook 10-H001SE X2 and the 10-h010NR. It slots into the tablet dock base that powers the detachable screen unit and restores full portability when the original cell has degraded.

  • SlateBook 10 X2 dock platform: These models share a common 7.4V two-cell Li-Polymer rail with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. The dock unit, not the screen, houses this battery — confirm you are replacing the correct component before ordering.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SlateBook dock BMS and confirmed it negotiates charge termination correctly at 8.4V. The protection circuit tripped at the expected under-voltage threshold with no error codes logged.
  • Post-install calibration on the SlateBook X2 dock: After fitting, run the dock down until the system hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before reattaching the screen. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and clears the inaccurate battery health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Why the SlateBook 10 X2 reports poor battery health right after a cell swap

The HP EC firmware stores learned capacity data from the previous cell in EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, the stored data no longer matches actual chemistry, so the system flags the battery as degraded or unknown — even on a brand-new replacement. This is not a fault with the cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the firmware to relearn capacity against the new cell and clears the warning.

SlateBook 10 X2 shutting down while the dock gauge still shows 20–25%

This happens when the cell can no longer hold voltage under combined CPU and display load — it hits a voltage cliff before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The gauge IC calibrated itself against the old degraded cell, so its empty-point estimate is now too low for the new cell's actual cutoff curve. A full discharge-to-hibernate cycle corrects this by giving the IC a real zero-voltage reference point. After one full cycle, the shutdown threshold should align with the gauge reading 0–5%.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HP SlateBook 10 X2 shows the battery as "0%" or "unknown" right after I installed the new cell — is it dead?

No — the HP EC firmware reads EEPROM data written by the old cell, so it has no valid reference for the new one and reports unknown or 0%. This is an EEPROM mismatch, not a fault with the replacement. Run the dock down until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle rewrites the stored capacity data and clears the unknown status.

The fuel gauge on my SlateBook 10 X2 jumps around wildly for the first few charges — is the replacement cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC needs two to three full discharge and charge cycles to build an accurate model of the new cell's voltage curve. Until it has that data, percentage readings will be erratic — large jumps and inaccurate estimates are normal. Run three complete discharge-to-hibernate then charge-to-100% cycles and the gauge will stabilise.

System info on my SlateBook 10 X2 shows a different Wh rating than the spec sheet — did I get the wrong battery?

The Wh figure shown in system info is read from the EEPROM of the original cell, not measured from the new one. The replacement cell is rated at 24.79Wh, but the OS will display whatever value was stored by the previous battery until the firmware rewrites it. Run the battery learn cycle — full discharge to hibernate, then charge to 100% — and the reported Wh value will update to match the installed cell.
