Rated 7.5V nominal and 6750mAh capacity delivers 50.63Wh to sustain eight-hour workdays on this ultrabook.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab — slides straight in and locks on contact pressure alone.
We bench-tested this cell on a Chromebook 14-Q063CL; the BMS accepted the first charge without fault codes and held voltage under sustained keyboard and display load.
After install, run one full discharge cycle to hibernation shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery fuel gauge and clears the inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Chromebook 14 / 14Q Series — 7.5V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (A2304XL)

This is a 7.5V, 6750mAh (50.63Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the HP Chromebook 14 and Chromebook 14Q series notebooks. It fits a broad range of Chromebook 14 variants, including the 14-Q063CL, 14-Q010SA, and 87 additional sub-models sharing the same battery bay and connector. OEM part numbers covered include A2304XL, 738392-005, HSTNN-LB5R, and TPN-Q134.

  • Chromebook 14 and 14Q platform fit: These models share a common 7.5V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across the full Chromebook 14 family. One cell fits the entire lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Chromebook 14 unit. The BMS communicated correctly with the system, charge termination triggered at full capacity, and no fault codes appeared during the session.
  • Chrome OS battery learn cycle after install: After fitting this cell, run the Chromebook down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning Chrome OS displays after any cell swap.

Why Chrome OS shows 0% or "unknown battery" after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC in the Chromebook 14 stores calibration data tied to the original cell's charge history. When a new cell goes in, the IC has no valid reference points and reports either 0% or an unknown state. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity. After two to three cycles, the percentage readout stabilises.

Chromebook 14 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge is reading stored calibration data from the old, degraded cell — the new cell's voltage curve doesn't match that map yet. The fix is a full discharge-to-hibernate cycle: let Chrome OS shut the system down naturally, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the BMS and fuel gauge align on the new cell's voltage floor, and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chrome OS is reporting my new battery as having poor health the moment I installed it — is the cell defective?

The poor health warning comes from EEPROM data the system carried over from the old cell — it has nothing to do with the new cell's actual condition. The BIOS battery learn cycle hasn't run yet, so Chrome OS is still reading the degraded health profile from before the swap. Run the Chromebook down to hibernate cutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle resets the learn cycle and clears the warning.

My Chromebook 14 shows the new battery as 47Wh in system info, but the cell is rated 50.63Wh — why does the number not match?

The Wh figure Chrome OS displays is pulled from EEPROM data on the battery's embedded controller, which may reflect the rated chemistry value rather than the measured cell capacity at current temperature and state of charge. This is a reporting difference, not a capacity loss. After two or three full charge and discharge cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the actual cell, and the displayed Wh figure will settle closer to the rated value.

The battery stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — is something wrong with the cell?

On many Chromebook 14 units, Chrome OS includes a BIOS-controlled charge limit that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell wear. This is a firmware setting, not a fault in the replacement cell. Open Chrome OS Settings, go to Device, then Battery, and check whether "Adaptive charging" or a charge limit toggle is enabled. Disabling that setting allows the cell to charge to 100%.
