This is an 11.1V, 2950mAh (32.75Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the HP Split 13 hybrid notebook line. It fits the Split 13, Split 13-M010DX, Split 13 x2, and Pavilion 13-P100ER among over 100 compatible models. The OEM part number is WO03XL, also cross-referenced as HSTNN-IB5I and 725606-001.

  • Split 13 x2 hybrid platform: These models share a single battery rail tied to both the tablet and keyboard dock sections. The 11.1V three-cell configuration matches the voltage requirement across that shared BMS handshake — swapping a mismatched cell trips the dock connector protection circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and load cycle on the Split 13 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly, charge acceptance was clean to 100%, and no protection faults triggered during the discharge sweep.
  • Post-install calibration on the Split 13: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff under normal use, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the Split 13 BIOS reports poor battery health after a cell swap

The Split 13 stores charge history and health data in EEPROM on the original cell's BMS board. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data is blank or mismatched, so the BIOS reads it as a degraded or unknown battery. This is a firmware interpretation issue, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% gives the BIOS enough data to recalibrate. After two to three full cycles, the health indicator typically returns to normal.

This symptom appears when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's voltage curve. The gauge is still using the old cell's discharge profile, so it predicts a safe cutoff well before the actual voltage cliff. The laptop shuts down because the system hits its low-voltage threshold while the displayed percentage still looks safe. Run two to three full discharge and charge cycles — the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell and the shutdowns stop. The cell isn't dead. The BIOS read blank EEPROM from the new battery and flagged it as unknown, which collapses the displayed percentage to 0%. Unplug the charger, let the laptop run down to hibernate, then plug in and charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that first full cycle, the BIOS recalibrates and the percentage reads correctly.

Why does my Split 13 say the battery is 32Wh in HP Support Assistant but then show a completely different number after replacement?

The Wh figure shown in HP Support Assistant is pulled from the EEPROM on the battery's BMS board. A new cell writes its rated chemistry data, which can differ slightly from what the old cell had stored after years of degradation entries. The replacement cell in this listing is rated at 32.75Wh — if the system shows a slightly different figure in the first few cycles, allow two to three full charge-discharge cycles for the EEPROM data to settle and the system report to stabilise.
