This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the HTC Mytouch 4G Slide, Doubleshot, and PG59100 smartphones. Capacity is 2400mAh (8.88Wh), matching the stock specification. If your phone dies faster than it charges or won't hold a charge through a normal day, the original cell has degraded and this is a direct swap.

Why the Mytouch 4G Slide drains faster with the sliding keyboard open

When the QWERTY keyboard is slid out, the display stays on and the keyboard controller draws continuous power alongside the touchscreen digitizer. That combined load is meaningfully higher than display-only use. A degraded cell with reduced internal capacity hits that combined draw hard, dropping voltage faster than the BMS expects. A fresh 2400mAh cell restores the voltage headroom the BMS needs to sustain that dual-load state without triggering an early low-battery warning.

Phone stuck on boot loop after battery replacement

A replacement cell shipped at partial state of charge can arrive below the minimum voltage the Mytouch 4G Slide's boot sequence requires to initialise the radio and complete startup. The phone attempts to boot, the voltage sags under load, and the device resets — repeating the loop. Connect to a wall charger before attempting to power on and let the cell reach at least 3.6V. Once the battery indicator shows a partial charge, the boot sequence completes normally.

My Mytouch 4G Slide lost all my open apps and data when I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it happens because the phone keeps open application state and unsaved data in RAM, which loses power the moment the battery is removed. Anything not written to internal flash storage is gone when the cell comes out. Before your next swap, do a full sync and close all open apps so data is committed to storage. There is no recovery after the fact — the RAM clears instantly on power loss.

The phone won't boot after I installed the new battery — it just shows the HTC screen and restarts over and over.

Replacement cells often ship at a low state of charge, and the Mytouch 4G Slide needs enough voltage to power the radio initialisation during startup. When the cell is too low, voltage sags under boot load and the device resets before Android finishes loading. Plug into a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on.
