Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AVIO R300SR / TVS-200EX Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 7.4V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the AVIO R300SR, R300ZD, TVS-200EX, and TVS-500EX handheld computers. These are pocket PCs used for mobile data entry, warehouse scanning, and field data management. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the device shuts down mid-session.

  • R300SR / TVS series battery compatibility: These four models share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The replacement cell uses the same voltage rails and handshake logic, so the device firmware reads state-of-charge correctly without recalibration.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the R300SR platform. The BMS reported accurate capacity readings at each stage, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the correct low-voltage threshold without causing an unplanned shutdown.
  • RAM data sync before removal: The R300SR stores open application state and unsaved data in volatile SRAM powered directly by the main battery. Before pulling the old cell, sync all open files to the host computer or server. A full power loss — even briefly — wipes anything held in RAM.

Why the R300SR won't boot after a battery swap

A replacement Li-ion cell ships at a partial state of charge — typically 30–50%. The R300SR boot sequence draws a surge of current to initialise the display, radio module, and scanner hardware simultaneously. If the cell voltage is too low when you first press power, the BMS trips the protection circuit and the device appears completely dead. Charge the new battery for at least two hours before attempting the first boot.

Battery draining faster than expected during active scanning shifts

In standby or light data-entry use, this 2200mAh cell performs close to its rated capacity. Add active barcode scanning and a live wireless radio connection, and current draw climbs sharply — the scanner LED and RF transmitter are the two largest loads on the pack. If runtime drops unexpectedly, check whether the wireless radio is staying connected rather than cycling through repeated re-association attempts, which burns power faster than a stable link. A stable Wi-Fi signal at the scanning location is the single biggest factor in normalising battery draw.

Frequently Asked Questions

My R300SR lost all my open data when I swapped the battery — is something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong with the battery. The R300SR stores open files and application state in SRAM, which is volatile memory powered directly by the main battery. The moment the old cell comes out and before the new one seats fully, that RAM loses power and the data is gone. Before any future swap, sync all open files to the host computer, then perform the battery change.

The R300SR shows a "low battery" warning almost immediately after fitting the new cell — is it defective?

Replacement Li-ion cells ship at a partial charge, usually between 30–50%. The device's fuel gauge reads that as a low state and triggers the warning straight away. Place the unit on charge before using it. Once the cell reaches full charge — typically indicated by the charge LED going solid green — the warning clears and the gauge reads correctly.

Wireless sync drops or runs very slowly after fitting the new battery — what's causing that?

The R300SR's radio module is voltage-sensitive. At a partial state of charge, the transmit power can fall below the threshold needed to hold a stable connection, causing the radio to retry repeatedly and drop throughput. Charge the battery to 100% first, then attempt the sync. If the issue continues at full charge, check the signal strength at the sync location — the radio in these handhelds performs poorly below -70 dBm.
