AVIO R300SR / TVS-200EX Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 7.4V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the AVIO R300SR, R300ZD, TVS-200EX, and TVS-500EX handheld computers. These are pocket PCs used for mobile data entry, warehouse scanning, and field data management. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the device shuts down mid-session.

• R300SR / TVS series battery compatibility: These four models share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The replacement cell uses the same voltage rails and handshake logic, so the device firmware reads state-of-charge correctly without recalibration.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the R300SR platform. The BMS reported accurate capacity readings at each stage, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the correct low-voltage threshold without causing an unplanned shutdown.
• RAM data sync before removal: The R300SR stores open application state and unsaved data in volatile SRAM powered directly by the main battery. Before pulling the old cell, sync all open files to the host computer or server. A full power loss — even briefly — wipes anything held in RAM.

Why the R300SR won't boot after a battery swap

A replacement Li-ion cell ships at a partial state of charge — typically 30–50%. The R300SR boot sequence draws a surge of current to initialise the display, radio module, and scanner hardware simultaneously. If the cell voltage is too low when you first press power, the BMS trips the protection circuit and the device appears completely dead. Charge the new battery for at least two hours before attempting the first boot.

Battery draining faster than expected during active scanning shifts

In standby or light data-entry use, this 2200mAh cell performs close to its rated capacity. Add active barcode scanning and a live wireless radio connection, and current draw climbs sharply — the scanner LED and RF transmitter are the two largest loads on the pack. If runtime drops unexpectedly, check whether the wireless radio is staying connected rather than cycling through repeated re-association attempts, which burns power faster than a stable link. A stable Wi-Fi signal at the scanning location is the single biggest factor in normalising battery draw.
