Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HTC Rezound / ThunderBolt 2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTR6425B)
This is a 3.7V, 1150mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the HTC Rezound, Vigor, ThunderBolt 2, and Droid Incredible HD. It uses OEM part numbers BTR6425B, BTR6425, 35H00168-02M, 35H00168-03M, BH98100, and 35H00168-06M. Swap it in when your original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- Rezound / ThunderBolt 2 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions (57 x 44 x 5mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all listed variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Rezound unit. The BMS communicated charge state correctly, cutoff triggers fired at the correct low-voltage threshold, and charge acceptance across the full 1150mAh capacity was confirmed.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. The Rezound's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — this single cycle resets it against the new cell before high-current charging is applied.
Why the Rezound reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Rezound uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds its percentage model from the previous cell's charge curve over many cycles. When you install a new cell, that model is stale — it doesn't match the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. The gauge can over- or under-report by 10–20% until it relearns. One full discharge down to automatic cutoff, followed by a full uninterrupted charge, forces the IC to rebuild its lookup table against the replacement cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% charge remaining
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under the combined load of the LTE modem, display, and processor — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge didn't predict. The phone reads 25% on the gauge but the actual cell voltage has already dipped below the shutdown threshold under that instantaneous current draw. It is not a defective battery; it is a miscalibrated gauge. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge rate and confirm the cell rests at 4.15–4.20V at 100% gauge reading before returning to normal use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HTC Rezound won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during extended storage — this is a protection state, not a failed battery. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone boots normally. If there is no response after 45 minutes on the wall charger, check that the battery connector is fully seated in the bay.
The Rezound feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is something wrong?
A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat during the first few charge cycles. This is normal and decreases after two or three full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the back of the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that no foreign material is caught between the battery and the bay contacts. After three cycles, warmth during charging should be minimal.
The battery percentage on my Rezound jumps around erratically — 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve after being tuned to the old one over many months. The coulomb counter loses confidence in its state-of-charge estimate when the underlying cell changes. Let the phone discharge fully until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. After that single complete cycle, the gauge resets its reference points and the percentage readings stabilise.
