Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Ascend SnapTo / G620-A2 / Pronto — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB3742A0EBC+)

This 3.8V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Huawei H891L, Pronto, Ascend SnapTo, and G620-A2. It restores power to the display, heart rate sensors, fitness tracking, and wireless connectivity. Dimensions are 96.90 × 40.45 × 3.66 mm — verify against your existing cell before installing.

  • Ascend SnapTo and G620-A2 compatibility: These models share the same 3.8V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement cell covers the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and confirmed the BMS protection circuit trips correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no thermal events, no overcharge passthrough on a standard 5V charger.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Ascend SnapTo after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC mapped as "near empty" on the original, it signals a forced shutdown — even though real capacity remains. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two full discharge and charge cycles without fast charging to force the coulomb counter to relearn the new curve.

Device not powering on after sitting in storage below 2.5V

If this cell was stored discharged, the BMS protection circuit locks out below approximately 2.5V to prevent cell damage. Plugging in a standard charger may show no response for several minutes while the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the lockout threshold. Connect to a wall adapter — not a USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on. If the device still does not respond, check that the charge voltage at the port is reaching at least 4.8V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Huawei Ascend SnapTo percentage jumps around erratically after putting in a new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of your old battery, so percentage readings are unreliable until it relearns. Run one full discharge — screen on, no charging — until the device shuts down, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging. After one complete cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and percentage reporting stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my G620-A2 right after I replaced the battery — it only charges slowly now.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake between the charge IC and the new BMS often fails on the first cycle because the BMS presents higher impedance on a fresh cell. This is normal behaviour. Complete one full standard charge cycle first, then re-enable fast charging in settings. If fast charging still does not engage after that, check the charging cable — a cable without the correct data pins will prevent the protocol handshake regardless of the battery condition.

My Huawei H891L feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging after the replacement — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth on the first few charges is expected. A new high-impedance cell causes the charge IC to work slightly harder as internal resistance settles, generating more heat than a worn cell would. If the device is warm to the touch but not hot, continue charging on a flat, hard surface away from soft materials. If the back becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect immediately and check that the replacement cell dimensions — 96.90 × 40.45 × 3.66 mm — match what is seated in the device, as a misfit cell can create abnormal contact pressure on the charge contacts.
