Fits BLU Vivo 5 and V0050UU models; replaces the OEM lithium-polymer battery.
3.85V and 3050mAh capacity restores full charge cycles on this budget Android device.
Connector slides into the internal slot behind the rear panel; no locking tab.
We ran a full discharge-recharge cycle on the bench; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, complete one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle before using fast charging — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC to the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Vivo 5 (V0050UU) — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.85V, 3050mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the BLU Vivo 5 (model V0050UU). It fits directly into the existing battery bay and connects to the same flex connector the factory cell uses. Dimensions are 84.90 × 63.05 × 3.75mm — confirm against your existing cell before installing.

  • Vivo 5 and V0050UU fit: Both model references share the same PCB layout, connector pinout, and charge IC. One cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the BLU charge IC and confirmed BMS handshake, full charge acceptance to 4.35V, and stable discharge curve under mixed screen and modem load — no premature cutoff triggered.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and let the phone complete one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the coulomb counter a clean reference curve before high-current charging begins against an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Vivo 5

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. When the modem or display pulls a spike of current, a cell with a steep discharge curve drops voltage faster than the fuel gauge expects. The system registers that as a critical low-voltage event and shuts down even though the reported percentage looks safe. Running one full discharge cycle from 100% to automatic shutdown lets the coulomb counter map the actual voltage curve of the new cell and correct the percentage readings going forward.

Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Lithium-polymer cells that self-discharge below approximately 2.5V per cell trigger a BMS lockout as a protection measure. The phone shows nothing — no charge animation, no bootloop. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any button. Most BMS circuits begin a trickle pre-charge at low voltage; once the cell climbs above the lockout threshold, the charge animation appears and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BLU Vivo 5 keeps shutting off at around 25% — why does this happen with a new battery?

The fuel gauge IC in the Vivo 5 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different voltage slope, so the IC misreads remaining capacity and triggers a low-voltage shutdown too early. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter has a clean curve for the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery in my Vivo 5 — is the charger the problem?

The charger is almost certainly fine. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can default to standard constant-current mode while it verifies the new cell's impedance and thermal profile. We saw this on the bench — fast charge negotiation was rejected on cycle one but accepted normally from cycle two onward. Charge the phone fully once at standard speed, then reconnect your fast charger and it should resume high-current charging.

The battery percentage on my Vivo 5 jumps around erratically right after installation — is the new cell faulty?

The percentage jumping is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating, not a defective cell. The coulomb counter lost its reference data when the old cell was disconnected and is now estimating state-of-charge against incomplete data. Let the phone run down to automatic shutdown at least once, then charge it to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. After one full reference cycle the readings stabilise — if erratic jumps continue past three full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated and latched.
