Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Honor 8X — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB386590ECW)
This 3.85V, 3650mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the HB386590ECW battery in the Huawei Honor 8X and Honor 8X Dual SIM, including variants JSN-LX3 and JSN-L23. It restores power capacity to a phone that can no longer hold a meaningful charge through a full day of calls, messaging, and app use. Dimensions are 88.02 × 63.92 × 4.30mm — verify your existing cell matches before fitting.
- Honor 8X variant coverage: The JSN-LX3, JSN-L23, and Dual SIM models all run the same power rail and connector layout, so all share the HB386590ECW footprint. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across these variants — no firmware differences affect cell recognition.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on an Honor 8X unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC completed a full CC/CV cycle without cutoff interruptions.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Honor 8X shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap
The Honor 8X fuel gauge IC builds its state-of-charge model from the previous cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old curve — and the new cell's voltage profile doesn't match it. Under modem or display load, actual cell voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, crossing the hardware shutdown threshold while the screen still shows 25%. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to resync against the real cell behaviour. After that cycle, the sudden shutdowns stop.
Huawei fast charge not activating on the replacement cell's first cycle
Huawei's proprietary fast charge protocol requires the charge IC to confirm BMS readiness before ramping current above standard 5V/1A. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS may respond with a conservative handshake while it assesses the new cell's internal resistance — the charge IC interprets this as a non-fast-charge cell and stays at base rate. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete the first slow cycle fully — discharge to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and fast charge will activate from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Honor 8X won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Most likely the BMS has locked out because the cell self-discharged below 2.5V per cell during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for at least 20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone will boot normally. If the screen shows nothing after 30 minutes on charge, check the connector is fully seated on the board.
The battery percentage on my Honor 8X jumps around erratically — skipping from 60% down to 41% in a few minutes — after fitting this cell.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve. The IC was trained on the old, degraded cell and its reference data no longer maps to the new cell's voltage steps. Let the phone drain to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. One full cycle is usually enough to stabilise the readout — two cycles will settle it completely.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the back panel during the first few charges with the new battery — should I be concerned?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat during the first few CC-phase cycles. This is expected and reduces after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. Keep the phone out of a case during those first charges to allow the heat to dissipate freely. If the back is too hot to hold after the third cycle, check that the connector is fully latched — a partially seated connector raises contact resistance and adds heat.
