Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Golden 4 SM-W2017 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BW217ABE)
This is a 3.85V, 2100mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Golden 4, covering model numbers SM-W2017 and G9298. It replaces OEM part EB-BW217ABE and restores power to the flip-phone's dual-screen hardware, modem, and application processor. Capacity is rated at 8.09Wh and cell dimensions are 70.26 × 33.18 × 5.50mm.
- SM-W2017 and G9298 compatibility: Both model numbers refer to the same Galaxy Golden 4 hardware platform. They share an identical battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the SM-W2017 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell without triggering a charge-inhibit flag. The protection circuit responded normally to both charge cutoff at 4.35V and low-voltage cutoff under modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes power into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Galaxy Golden 4
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. The Golden 4's dual-screen hardware and modem draw simultaneous current spikes that a degraded or freshly installed uncalibrated cell cannot sustain — voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the reported percentage looks safe. The OS sees a percentage derived from the fuel gauge IC, which is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve. Run one full discharge-to-cutoff cycle and one full charge cycle to let the coulomb counter re-anchor to the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% should stop.
Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charge
A new Li-Polymer cell typically has higher internal impedance than a used one broken in over many cycles. The charge IC compensates by increasing voltage slightly, which raises heat output at the cell surface during the first few charge cycles. This is normal and reduces as internal impedance drops with cycling. If the device stays warm beyond the third full charge cycle, check that the charger output does not exceed 5V/2A — the Golden 4's charge IC is not rated for high-wattage fast charge adapters.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galaxy Golden 4 just died and won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery the issue?
It's almost certainly a BMS lockout, not a faulty cell. When a Li-Polymer cell drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, the protection circuit locks out to prevent dangerous charging. Plug the phone into a low-current charger — a standard 5V/1A USB adapter — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The BMS needs a trickle charge to exit lockout before the phone will boot.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it shows 60%, then drops to 30% in seconds with no warning.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating to an unfamiliar discharge curve. The coulomb counter inside the Golden 4 was calibrated to the original cell's characteristics, and a new cell with a different impedance profile causes the percentage readings to misfire. Run two complete discharge cycles — drain the phone until it shuts off automatically, then charge to 100% without interruption. After the second cycle, the fuel gauge IC stabilises and percentage readings track accurately.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery on my SM-W2017 — it only charges slowly now.
The Galaxy Golden 4's charge controller runs a handshake with the battery BMS on the first cycle after installation. If that handshake doesn't complete cleanly — usually because the phone was powered on mid-installation or the contacts weren't fully seated — the system falls back to standard 5V charging as a safety default. Power the phone off completely, reseat the battery to make sure the connector is fully pressed down, then restart and connect the charger with the screen on to let the handshake complete. Fast charge should resume within one full cycle.
