Sale priceFrom $53.99 USD Regular price $66.99
Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits Hytera HP500, HP505, HP560, HP565 and one additional model; replaces OEM part numbers BL1508, BL2301-Ex, BP3005.
7.7V at 3200mAh delivers 24.64Wh — sustains sustained transmission cycles without voltage sag under field RF loads.
Gold spring contacts mate flush to the radio slot with a fixed locking tab; no orientation confusion on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell with a Hytera dock charger; BMS accepted handshake on first cycle and held voltage flat under PTT load simulation.
If the charger dock shows a fault LED after you insert this battery, remove the pack and wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly — the Hytera platform needs clean contact engagement to register the new BMS before charging starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hytera HP500 / HP560 Series — 7.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL1508)

This 7.7V Li-ion battery replaces the OEM BL1508, BL2301-Ex, and BP3005 packs for the Hytera HP500, HP505, HP560, and HP565 portable digital radios. Capacity is 3200mAh (24.64Wh). The HP500 series is a DMR-tier professional radio used in public safety, security, and enterprise field operations.

  • HP500 / HP505 / HP560 / HP565 platform fit: These four models share the same battery bay geometry, contact pin layout, and 7.7V BMS handshake requirement. One pack SKU covers the full set because the charging circuit and connector spec did not change across the HP500 generation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack in an HP560 and monitored BMS response across PTT transmit bursts. The BMS held the voltage rail steady through sustained DMR transmission without triggering overcurrent cutoff.
  • First insertion into the Hytera dock: If the dock LED shows a fault on first seating, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The HP500-series charger requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before it will begin charging.

Why the HP500 drops to reduced TX power mid-shift on a new battery

New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.7–3.8V per cell, not full charge. The HP500 monitors the voltage rail and steps down RF output when it reads the pack as low. This is not a fault with the battery; it is the radio protecting its PA stage. Charge the pack fully in the Hytera dock before the first shift and the TX power will operate at its rated level.

Bar indicator shows one fewer bar than expected after fitting the BL1508

The HP500 uses voltage thresholds to drive its bar indicator — it reads pack voltage directly, not a charge percentage chip. A new pack at storage voltage sits below the top threshold, so the radio displays one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. One full charge cycle brings the cell voltage up to 8.3–8.4V and the indicator will show full bars on the next power-on.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HP500 cuts out completely when I press PTT — is the new battery faulty?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead cell. The DMR transmit current spike — typically 1.5–2A in a burst — can trip the BMS protection circuit if the pack contacts are not fully seated or if the contact strip has residual film from packaging. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the radio with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and press PTT again. If the cutout stops, the BMS handshake was the issue, not the cell itself.

The Hytera charger dock blinks a fault LED and never starts charging — what's wrong?

New packs ship at storage voltage, which can sit just below the dock's acceptance threshold. The HP500-series charger checks pack voltage before opening the charge circuit, and if it reads below roughly 6.5V it flags a fault rather than beginning a charge. Remove the pack, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly to prompt a fresh voltage read. If the fault clears and charging begins, the pack was simply at the low edge of storage voltage — one full cycle will bring it into normal range.

The radio powers on fine but drops to one bar and low audio volume after a few transmissions — is this a capacity problem?

This points to voltage sag under sustained RF load, not a capacity fault. Voltage sag happens when the cell has not yet been through a full charge cycle and its internal impedance is slightly elevated — common in new packs. Run one complete charge in the Hytera dock, then discharge through normal field use before charging again. After that conditioning cycle, the pack's impedance drops and the voltage rail stays stable through back-to-back transmissions.
