Sale priceFrom $50.99 USD Regular price $62.99
Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits Ingenico iPA200 and iPA280 payment terminals; replaces OEM part IPA200-BAT.
Voltage 3.85V and capacity 3000mAh deliver full charge cycles for extended merchant shifts without mid-transaction dropouts.
Connector seats flush into the terminal's rear battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab secures the cell against vibration during transport.
We bench-tested this cell in the iPA280 dock — BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion and held voltage under simulated transaction loads.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle including card read and receipt print before deploying in a live payment environment; the terminal calibrates its charge indicator during normal operation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ingenico iPA200 / iPA280 — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (IPA200-BAT)

This 3.85V, 3000mAh Li-ion battery fits the Ingenico iPA200 and iPA280 mobile payment terminals. It replaces OEM part numbers IPA200-BAT, VBT1, and 296104539. Voltage and cell format match the original specification exactly.

  • iPA200 and iPA280 platform fit: Both terminals share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell format covers both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through a full boot sequence on the iPA200. The BMS accepted the handshake on first power-on, passed the PCI boot check, and the charge IC entered top-off mode as expected on a fresh cell.
  • First-use calibration for payment terminals: After fitting this battery, complete one full transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after a battery swap

The receipt printer motor draws a short, sharp current spike at the start of each print job. On a new battery that has not yet completed a conditioning cycle, the BMS may read that spike as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit. This cuts power to the terminal mid-transaction. One complete transaction-and-print cycle allows the BMS to learn the load profile of this terminal and stops false trips from recurring.

Terminal not powering on after sitting unused in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per month. After extended storage without a charge top-up, the cell voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V. When this happens, the terminal shows no response at all: no boot screen, no charge indicator. Place the terminal on charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on; most charge ICs include a trickle-charge stage that recovers cells down to approximately 2.0V before switching to normal charge mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iPA280 keeps rebooting every time it prints a receipt — is this the battery?

Yes, this is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the printer motor's start-up current spike. On a freshly installed battery, the protection circuit hasn't yet learned the terminal's load profile and reads the spike as a fault. Run at least one complete transaction cycle — boot, transaction, print — and the trips should stop. If reboots continue after three full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated and clean.

The charge indicator is stuck at 99% and won't move — did I get a faulty battery?

Not faulty. The charge IC on a new Li-ion cell enters a top-off trickle stage near full capacity, and the iPA200/iPA280 firmware can display this as a flat 99% for an extended period. Leave the terminal on charge until the indicator moves to 100% and the charging LED changes state — this can take up to 90 minutes on a fresh cell. Once the first full charge completes, the indicator tracks normally.

The terminal powers on but freezes during the PCI boot sequence after I replaced the battery — what's happening?

The PCI boot sequence on Ingenico terminals includes a hardware integrity check that depends on stable voltage from the battery. If the BMS handshake hasn't been accepted yet, voltage can sag during the check and stall the boot. Power the terminal fully off, leave it on charge for 15 minutes, then power on again. A stable charge above 3.7V is usually enough for the BMS to complete the handshake and allow the boot sequence to finish.
