Fits Poynt Smart Terminal Model 5, P0501, M2W3140A — replaces OEM part CCQ60.
Delivers 3.8V at 1580mAh; powers the payment terminal through daily transaction processing without mid-cycle shutdowns.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab — orientation marked on the terminal housing.
We bench-tested this 3.8V Li-Polymer cell on a dummy load rig; BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes on insertion.
After installation, process one complete payment transaction end-to-end before live deployment — the terminal calibrates battery capacity during normal operation and requires a full power cycle to sync the charge indicator.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Poynt 5 / P0501 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CCQ60)

This 3.8V 1580mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the CCQ60 cell in the Poynt Smart Terminal Model 5 (P0501 / M2W3140A). It fits the compact mobile POS unit merchants use at countertop and mobile payment stations. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly — no firmware flags on boot.

  • P0501 and M2W3140A compatibility: Both model numbers reference the same Poynt 5 hardware platform. They share an identical battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — so one cell covers the full production run of this terminal.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full boot-charge cycle on a Poynt 5 unit. The BMS accepted the handshake on first power-on, the charge indicator populated correctly, and thermal output stayed within normal range across a sustained transaction load.
  • First deployment tip: After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before putting the terminal into live service. The Poynt 5 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator — skipping this leaves the display misreporting state of charge.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The Poynt 5 runs a PCI-compliant security check on every cold boot. A freshly installed cell sits at open-circuit voltage — often slightly below the terminal's accepted handshake threshold until the charge IC tops it up. If the boot sequence stalls or loops, it is usually because the BMS handshake has not yet been confirmed on the new cell. Connect the terminal to its charger, allow it to reach at least 4.1V, then reboot. One complete charge-boot cycle is all it takes to clear the sequence lock.

Poynt 5 not powering on after sitting unused in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A terminal left in a drawer for several months can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V — at which point the unit will not respond to the power button at all. Connect the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charge LED does not light within five minutes, check the charge cable and port first, then try again — the recovery charge pulse is slow but the cell will accept current at that voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Poynt 5 reboots every time I print a receipt — is the new battery faulty?

Receipt printing pulls a sharp current spike that can trip the BMS overcurrent protection on a new cell that has not yet completed a full charge cycle. This is the most common cause of mid-transaction reboots on the Poynt 5 after a battery swap — not a defective cell. Charge the terminal fully to 100%, run one complete transaction including a printed receipt, and let the BMS recalibrate. If reboots continue after that first full cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated in the bay.

The battery indicator on my Poynt 5 has been stuck at 99% since I installed the new battery — what's happening?

The charge IC enters a top-off mode on a new Li-Polymer cell and holds the display at 99% while it applies a low-current balancing charge to the fresh cell. This is normal behaviour, not a stuck sensor. It typically clears within one to two hours of continuous charging. Once the terminal reports 100% and you complete a power cycle, the charge indicator will track accurately from that point forward.

My Poynt 5 gets noticeably warm during a busy lunch rush — is the battery causing that?

During peak transaction periods the Poynt 5 runs the display, wireless radio, and receipt printer simultaneously — that combined draw generates heat from the charge IC and the cell itself, not from any single fault. Warmth to the touch on the back panel is within normal operating range for this terminal class. If the device is hot enough to trigger a thermal warning on screen, move it away from direct sunlight or enclosed card readers and allow a two-minute idle period before resuming transactions.
