Fits JBL J56BT wireless headset, replaces FT582535P and YRCC13L battery packs.
This 3.7V, 450mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full talk time on the J56BT after original battery degradation.
Connector seats into the headset battery slot with positive contact toward the PCB; locking tab secures without force.
We bench-tested the pack in the J56BT cradle; BMS accepted charge handshake on first insertion, voltage held steady under sustained DECT radio draw.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for one complete cycle before taking calls — the base needs to log the new cell's BMS signature before talk-time estimates stabilize.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JBL J56BT — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FT582535P)

This 3.7V, 450mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the JBL J56BT wireless Bluetooth headset. It fits the compact on-ear form factor and restores power when the existing cell no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 36.28 × 24.70 × 5.40mm — measure your old cell before installing.

  • J56BT platform fit: The J56BT runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal. This replacement matches that voltage rail and the original connector orientation, so the BMS handshake completes without an error flag on power-up.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the J56BT platform. The BMS accepted the new pack on the first connection, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no false shutdowns observed.
  • First-cycle charging on the J56BT: Seat the headset in its charging cradle immediately after fitting the new cell and let it complete a full charge cycle before use. The J56BT's firmware uses that first cycle to log the new cell capacity — skip it and the battery indicator will read inaccurately for several days.

Why the J56BT cuts out mid-call even with a new battery

The J56BT draws current from two loads simultaneously during a call — the Bluetooth radio and the audio amplifier. On a cell that hasn't completed its first few charge cycles, internal resistance is still elevated. That resistance causes a brief voltage sag under the combined draw, and the BMS reads it as an undervoltage fault. The fix is to complete three to five full charge-discharge cycles before heavy use — internal resistance drops as the cell conditions, and the sag narrows.

Base station shows full charge but headset shuts off after a few minutes

A freshly installed Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V to 3.8V, not a true full charge. The base station's charge circuit may terminate early if it reads that voltage as "already full." Place the headset in the cradle, remove it, then reseat it firmly to force the charger to restart its cycle. If the charge indicator comes on and runs to completion, the cell will hold a full charge and the early shutoff will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My J56BT keeps cutting out mid-call — I just put a new battery in, what's happening?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal resistance until it's been cycled a few times. Under the combined Bluetooth radio and audio draw during a call, that resistance causes a short voltage sag, and the BMS trips a protective cutoff. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles on the headset and the sag will narrow as the cell conditions. After the fifth cycle, check that the resting voltage reads at least 4.1V after a full charge.

The base station won't recognise the new battery — the charging light just flashes and won't settle.

This usually means the BMS handshake between the new cell and the J56BT's charge circuit didn't complete on the first seating. Remove the headset from the base, wait ten seconds, then reseat it firmly until you feel it click into the cradle contacts. If the error persists, check the cradle contacts for oxidation and clean them with a dry cloth — a poor contact prevents the charge controller from reading the cell and completing the recognition sequence.

The headset gets noticeably warm during long calls — is that normal with this replacement cell?

Some warmth is expected. The J56BT housing is small, and the battery, Bluetooth chipset, and amplifier all generate heat in a confined space during sustained use. What's not normal is heat you can't comfortably hold against your skin. If the housing gets uncomfortably hot, the cell may be drawing more current than expected due to a loose connector — reseat the battery connector and confirm it's fully latched. If the problem continues after reseating, check that the replacement cell voltage matches 3.7V nominal.
