This is a 14.4V, 2800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Klarstein Cleanmate and Cleanfriend Veluce R290 robotic vacuum cleaners. It slots into the battery compartment directly and restores power to the drive motors and navigation system. Capacity is 2800mAh (40.32Wh), matching the original cell specification.

• Cleanmate and Veluce R290 fit: Both models run the same 14.4V battery platform with an identical connector layout and BMS communication protocol. A single replacement cell covers both units without modification.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The Cleanmate's motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the intake path is restricted. Under that extra load, the battery voltage sags earlier than the indicator circuit expects, so the vacuum loses suction while the gauge still shows a mid-level charge. The BMS reads the voltage sag as a near-depleted cell and reduces power delivery to protect the pack. Clean the filter and clear the intake before assuming the battery is the fault — a restricted motor pulling above rated current will drain even a new cell faster than the indicator tracks.

Replacement battery not charging on the dock

Some Klarstein charger units expect a specific voltage response from the battery during the initial charge handshake. If the replacement cell sits at a lower resting voltage after shipping and storage, the charger may not trigger its charge cycle. Remove the battery, let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, then reseat it on the dock. If the charge indicator still does not activate, confirm the dock output is at the rated 16–17V DC using a multimeter before concluding the battery is at fault.
