Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kress KG760E.9 Series — 60V Li-ion Replacement Battery (KA3000)
This is a 60V Li-ion battery rated at 5000mAh (300Wh), built to replace the OEM pack in the Kress KG760E.9, KG757E.9, KG160E.9, and KG756E.9 cordless lawn mowers, plus five additional compatible models. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same BMS handshake the original pack used. Voltage and capacity are matched to the mower's cutting deck motor requirements.
- KG760E.9 series compatibility: These Kress mowers share the same 60V battery platform, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol across the range. One pack covers the full model group because Kress standardised the battery interface across this lawn mower lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through simulated blade-motor inrush cycles, which pull a sharp current spike at startup. The BMS held stable across repeated cold starts and recovered cleanly from high-draw events without tripping into protection mode.
- Seasonal storage tip: If temperatures drop below 10°C, bring the battery indoors overnight before your first mow of the season. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current at startup can trip the BMS on a pack that hasn't warmed to room temperature.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
The KG760E.9 blade motor draws a significantly higher current spike when entering dense or wet grass than during normal cutting. If the BMS reads that spike as an overload event, it cuts power to protect the cells. This is more likely with a new pack that hasn't completed its first few conditioning cycles, as cell resistance is slightly higher out of the box. After five full charge-discharge cycles, the BMS threshold and cell behaviour settle, and nuisance cutoffs in heavy grass become rare.
Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat all winter
A battery stored through winter can self-discharge below the charger's acceptance voltage threshold — typically under 48V on a 60V pack. When the charger sees a pack this flat, it reads a fault rather than beginning a charge cycle. To recover it, leave the pack on the charger for 30–60 minutes without interrupting the connection; most Kress chargers include a trickle pre-charge mode that will slowly bring cell voltage up to the acceptance window. Once the cells reach approximately 52V, the charger switches to its normal fast-charge profile and the fault light clears.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Kress mower cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a minute or two — what's happening?
This is thermal protection firing. The blade motor in the KG760E.9 generates significant heat under sustained load, and once the battery pack's internal temperature hits the BMS threshold, it interrupts current to prevent cell damage. It resets automatically once the pack cools. Let it sit for at least five minutes before restarting, and avoid running consecutive full rows in tall or wet grass without a short pause between passes.
The battery is running noticeably warmer than the old OEM pack did — is something wrong?
Heat during the first few cycles on a new pack is normal. Fresh cells have slightly higher internal resistance until they condition, which generates more heat during high-draw tasks like mowing. We measured surface temperatures on the bench across the first five cycles and saw them drop to normal range by cycle six. If the pack is still running hot after ten full cycles, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings.
The mower starts fine on a warm day but feels noticeably underpowered on a cold morning — is the battery faulty?
It's not faulty — it's Li-ion chemistry behaving as expected below 10°C. Cold cells have higher internal resistance, which reduces the current they can deliver at the same voltage. The blade motor gets less peak power, so cutting feels sluggish, especially in the first few minutes. Bring the pack indoors for a few hours before an early cold-weather mow, and performance will match what you see on warm days once the cells reach room temperature.
