Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Worx ENVIRO EG361.9 60V — 60V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WA3038)
This is a 60V 5000mAh (300Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Worx ENVIRO EG361.9 60V cordless lawn mower and compatible 60V Worx outdoor platforms. It fits via OEM part numbers WA3038, EP3630, EP3620, and EP3640. The battery slots into the same bay as the original and communicates with the mower's onboard BMS using the same protocol.
- EG361.9, EG560.9, and ENVIRO Brushless 60V platform: These models share a common 60V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One replacement covers the full platform without adapter modifications.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through blade-start inrush cycles on a 60V mower deck. The BMS held cutoff thresholds within spec across repeated high-load starts, and cell balancing engaged correctly after full charge cycles.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before first use of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the mower even completes one pass.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade loads
When the mower deck hits dense or wet grass, the blade motor pulls a surge current well above its steady-state draw. If that surge exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold — typically triggered in under 200 milliseconds — the pack shuts off as a protection response, not a fault. This is especially common with a new pack on its first few cycles before cells reach full conditioned capacity. Mowing at a slower forward pace through heavy sections reduces peak current draw and keeps the BMS from tripping. After conditioning across five full charge-discharge cycles, the cells handle inrush more consistently.
Mower cuts out mid-row and then restarts after a short wait
This is thermal protection activating, not a battery fault. The pack's internal temperature sensor cuts power when cell temperature exceeds the safe operating ceiling — common after extended mowing in warm conditions or back-to-back passes without pause. The mower will restart once the pack cools below the reset threshold. Allow at least a 5-minute rest with the battery removed from direct sunlight, then reinsert and resume. If cutouts recur within a single session at short intervals, check that the battery vents are not blocked by grass clippings.

Frequently Asked Questions
The charger won't accept the battery after the mower sat in the garage all winter — it just blinks an error. What's happening?
The pack most likely self-discharged below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage over winter storage. Li-ion chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle when cell voltage drops too low, as a safety measure. Leave the battery at room temperature for several hours, then try the charger again — some chargers have a recovery or trickle mode that re-engages once the pack warms up slightly. If the charger still shows a fault after 30 minutes at room temperature, the cells may have dropped below 2.5V per cell, which is the threshold below which recovery is not guaranteed.
The new battery gets noticeably warmer than my old one during the first few mows — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. New Li-ion cells run slightly warmer during the first three to five charge-discharge cycles as internal resistance settles and the cell chemistry conditions. We measured surface temperatures on the pack during bench testing and found heat output drops to normal operating range by cycle five. Keep the battery out of direct sunlight during those first sessions and make sure grass clippings aren't blocking the casing vents.
First spring mow, the mower felt underpowered and sluggish from the start — is the battery failing?
Cold Li-ion cells lose a measurable portion of their usable capacity below 10°C, and internal resistance rises sharply, which reduces the current the pack can deliver to the blade motor. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a defect. Bring the battery indoors the night before a cold-morning mow and let it reach at least 15°C before use. A fully warmed pack at the start of the session will deliver full voltage from the first pass.
