Fits KV8 510B and S350 cordless vacuums, replacing OEM battery pack 14.4V Ni-MH.
14.4V and 3000mAh capacity sustains motor performance through full cleaning cycles on standard carpet and hard floor runs.
Battery slides into the vertical charging dock with a single downward locking tab; connector aligns flush when seated correctly.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH pack on the 510B motor load — BMS accepted initial charge without fault codes, voltage held steady under sustained suction demand.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently after reaching full charge; continuous trickle charging degrades Ni-MH capacity significantly within weeks — charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KV8 510B / S350 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH battery pack for KV8 cordless vacuum models 510B and S350. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped to the point where the vacuum can no longer complete a full clean. Voltage and form factor match the original pack exactly.

  • 510B and S350 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V power rail, share the same physical battery housing, and use the same connector orientation. A single replacement cell covers both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the 510B platform. The BMS held steady across motor-start current spikes and did not trip under sustained suction load on a clean filter.
  • Dock charging on KV8 cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells under sustained motor load show voltage sag before the pack is fully depleted. On the KV8 510B, this appears as weakening suction while the indicator still shows charge remaining. A partially clogged filter makes this worse — the motor draws above its rated current trying to compensate, which accelerates voltage sag. Clear the filter first, then test suction. If the problem persists with a clean filter, the original pack has degraded below a usable capacity threshold.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, full dustbin, or a lodged obstruction — the motor pulls more current than the BMS allows, and it shuts down as a protection measure. Removing the restriction lets current drop back to safe levels, and the BMS resets. Check the filter and empty the dustbin before assuming the battery is at fault. If the cutout happens with a fully clear airway, measure pack voltage at rest — a healthy Ni-MH 14.4V pack should read at or above 14.4V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My KV8 510B loses suction halfway through vacuuming but the charge light still shows green — what's happening?

The battery is sagging under motor load before it's fully depleted — common with aged Ni-MH packs. The charge indicator reads resting voltage, not load voltage, so it can show green while the pack is already struggling. A blocked filter makes it worse by pushing motor draw above rated current. Clean the filter first; if suction still drops with a fresh filter, the original pack needs replacing.

The vacuum motor cuts out for a few seconds then starts again on its own — is that the battery or the motor?

That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a motor failure. Restricted airflow — a full dustbin, clogged filter, or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to draw more current than the BMS permits, so it shuts down and resets once current drops. Clear every restriction in the airflow path and run the vacuum again. If cutouts continue with a fully clear airway, check that the replacement pack voltage reads at or above 14.4V after a complete charge cycle.

I left my KV8 on the dock between every use and now it barely runs — did I damage the battery?

Yes — continuous dock charging is the most common cause of Ni-MH capacity fade in cordless vacuums. Ni-MH cells degrade faster under ongoing trickle charge than when cycled between full charge and depletion. The original pack has likely lost a significant portion of its usable capacity. Replace the pack and from that point charge only when depleted, then remove the vacuum from the dock once the charge indicator shows full.
