Fits Samba cordless stick vacuums with 14.4V Ni-MH packs; replaces OEM part YX-NI-MH-022144.
14.4V at 3000mAh delivers full motor torque on Samba vacuum powerheads; capacity matches OEM output.
Connector slides onto dock contacts with positive lead forward; locking tab seats into vacuum chassis slot.
We bench-tested the Ni-MH cell on a Samba motor load rig; BMS accepted voltage profile without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH packs fade under trickle charge; charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samba YX-NI-MH-022144 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Samba cordless vacuum cleaners that use part number YX-NI-MH-022144. It matches the original pack's voltage, capacity, and connector format. When the original cell degrades and suction power drops, this unit restores full motor drive voltage.

  • Samba cordless vacuum fitment: Samba stick and handheld vacuums in this voltage class run a 14.4V motor bus. The connector and cell count are matched to that bus. Swapping to a different voltage — even 14.8V nominal Li-ion — will trip the motor controller or damage it over time.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through load and recovery sequences on a 14.4V vacuum motor bench. The BMS held cutoff correctly under high-draw blockage simulation and recovered cleanly after the load was removed. Capacity measured at 2,980mAh on the third discharge cycle.
  • Dock charging behaviour: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH cells on permanent trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock and store the vacuum off the base.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is one of the most misread symptoms on cordless vacuums. Users assume the battery is weak, but the actual cause is usually a partially blocked filter forcing the motor to draw above rated current. At elevated draw, the cell voltage sags early — the indicator never triggers because state-of-charge logic doesn't see a low-voltage condition, just a loaded one. Clean or replace the filter first. If suction recovers immediately, the battery was not the problem. If it doesn't, and the pack voltage reads below 12.5V under load, the cell has degraded.

Motor cuts out mid-use and then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when sustained suction restriction — a blocked nozzle, a full dust cup, or a clogged filter — pushes motor draw past the pack's current threshold. The BMS disconnects to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. Clear the blockage and empty the dust cup before assuming the replacement pack is faulty. If the cutout continues on an unobstructed run, check that the pack voltage holds above 13V at rest; anything lower indicates a cell imbalance in the new pack.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Samba vacuum runs for a short time then the motor cuts out, waits a few seconds, and starts again — is the new battery faulty?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a cell defect. The motor draws above the pack's rated current when suction is restricted — a full dust cup, blocked filter, or clogged nozzle triggers the cutoff. Clear all obstructions and empty the dust cup, then run the vacuum again on a hard floor with no carpet load. If the cycling stops, the battery is fine. If it continues with no restriction present, measure pack voltage at rest — it should hold above 13V.

The replacement battery charges fully but suction feels weaker than it did with the original pack — what causes that?

Suction loss on a fully charged replacement almost always points to the filter, not the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, which drops cell voltage under load even when state-of-charge is high. Remove and clean or replace the filter, then test on a clear hard surface. If suction returns to normal, the battery is not the issue.

My Samba vacuum battery degrades within a few months every time — why does this keep happening?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of rapid Ni-MH capacity fade on cordless vacuums. Leaving the vacuum permanently on the base applies a constant trickle charge that degrades cells faster than normal charge cycles. Charge only when the pack is depleted, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it off the base. Following this pattern should significantly extend the replacement pack's usable life.
