Fits Leica CS35 Controller; replaces GEB235 and GEB236 battery packs.
10.8V, 4100mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 44.28Wh for field surveying work without midday recharge.
Connector and locking tab match OEM slot orientation; seats flush with zero play on insertion.
Bench test showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion; voltage stable under full controller load.
After installation, run one full discharge to sleep-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the CS35 fuel gauge IC calibration and clears inaccurate capacity warnings that appear after cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leica CS35 Controller — 10.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GEB235 / GEB236)

This is a 10.8V, 4100mAh (44.28Wh) lithium-polymer battery for the Leica CS35 field controller. The CS35 is a handheld data collector used by surveyors and construction professionals for positioning and measurement tasks. This cell replaces OEM part numbers GEB235 and GEB236.

  • CS35 platform fit: The GEB235 and GEB236 share the same 10.8V three-cell Li-Polymer configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Both part numbers slot into the same battery bay on the CS35 controller without hardware modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under CS35 load conditions. The BMS communicated correctly with the controller, state-of-charge reporting was stable, and thermal cutoff thresholds responded as expected during high-draw GPS acquisition bursts.
  • First-cycle calibration on the CS35: After fitting this battery, run the CS35 until it shuts down at the low-voltage cutoff, then charge it to 100% without interruption. The controller's fuel gauge IC needs this full cycle to anchor its charge estimation to the new cell's actual capacity curve.

CS35 reporting battery health as poor immediately after swap

The CS35 controller reads health data from EEPROM embedded in the battery's BMS. When a new cell is installed, the EEPROM contains factory defaults that the controller interprets as degraded relative to its stored baseline. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a mismatch between the old learned data and the new cell's profile. Run one full discharge-to-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After one or two complete cycles, the controller recalibrates its battery learn cycle and the health warning clears.

CS35 shutting down with 20–30% charge still shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC's discharge curve no longer matches the cell's actual voltage behaviour under load. The CS35's GPS receiver, display, and wireless radio draw current simultaneously, creating brief high-demand spikes. At that load level, an uncalibrated cell can hit the BMS low-voltage cutoff at 9.9V while the screen still shows a non-zero percentage. The fix is a supervised full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by a complete, uninterrupted charge — this anchors the fuel gauge IC to the cell's real voltage cliff point.

Frequently Asked Questions

The CS35 shows the correct charge percentage for the first hour, then jumps around wildly — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC inside the CS35 builds its discharge model from learned cycle data stored on the old cell's EEPROM. With a new cell installed, that learned model no longer matches the actual voltage curve, so the percentage estimate drifts and jumps as load changes. Run two full discharge-to-cutoff and charge-to-100% cycles without interruption. After those calibration cycles, the gauge IC re-anchors to the new cell and the percentage readout stabilises.

My CS35 shows 44Wh in system info but I expected a different figure — is the cell wrong?

No. The Wh figure the CS35 reads comes from a rated value stored in the battery's EEPROM, not from a live measurement of the physical cell. The GEB235 and GEB236 are rated at 44.28Wh at the nominal 10.8V, 4100mAh specification — that is the correct value for this cell. If the controller displays a noticeably different number, pull the battery, reseat it firmly, and power cycle the CS35 to force a fresh EEPROM read.

The CS35 won't charge the new battery past 80% — is the cell defective?

This is almost always a firmware-controlled charge limit set in the CS35's battery management firmware, not a fault in the cell itself. Leica's charge controller can apply a conservation ceiling that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell stress during long-term storage. Check the CS35 software settings or firmware version for a charge limit option and disable it. Once the limit is cleared, the controller will charge the cell to its full 10.8V termination voltage.
