Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1R — 10.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FZ-VSU84U)
This 10.8V, 4100mAh (44.28Wh) Li-Polymer battery is a direct replacement for the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1R fully rugged enterprise tablet. It also fits the FZ-G1A, FZ-G1B, and iCON CS35 10, among others. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a charge through a full field shift.
- FZ-G1 series compatibility: The FZ-G1A, FZ-G1B, and FZ-G1R all run the same 10.8V battery rail and share an identical connector and BMS handshake protocol. OEM part numbers FZ-VZSU84U, FZ-VZSU84AK, FZ-VZSU88U, and the rest of the FZ-VZSU84 family all cross to this cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell against the FZ-G1R's BMS under full CPU and display load. The BMS accepted the cell without a reject fault, charge current stepped down correctly at the 4.2V-per-cell threshold, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff.
- Post-install calibration on the FZ-G1R: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on the FZ-G1 platform.
Why the FZ-G1R BIOS reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap
The FZ-G1R stores charge cycle count and capacity data in EEPROM on the original battery's fuel gauge IC. When you install a new cell, the BIOS reads that EEPROM as blank or mismatched and flags the battery health as poor or unknown. This is not a fault with the new cell. Run the full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted charge cycle once, and the BIOS learn cycle overwrites the stale EEPROM data. After one or two full cycles, the health indicator returns to normal.
FZ-G1R shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The OS reads a percentage based on voltage estimates from the old cell's profile, but the new cell hits its voltage cliff at a different point. Under combined CPU and display load, the tablet shuts down before the gauge reaches 0%. Run two full discharge-and-recharge cycles without interruption. After the second cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the reported percentage will track actual remaining capacity accurately down to approximately 3.0V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
The FZ-G1R is showing the battery as "0%" or "unknown" right after I installed the new cell — is it dead on arrival?
It is not a faulty cell. The FZ-G1R's BIOS reads capacity and health data from the EEPROM on the fuel gauge IC, and a fresh cell has no prior cycle data stored. The system flags it as unknown until the learn cycle runs. Charge the tablet uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge it fully to hibernate-cutoff and charge again — the BIOS will register the cell correctly after that first complete cycle.
Windows is reporting 44Wh but the system info screen on the FZ-G1R is showing a different Wh rating — which one is right?
The system info screen pulls its Wh figure from the EEPROM value burned into the original battery's fuel gauge IC at the factory. A replacement cell carries its own EEPROM data, which may show a slightly different rated Wh figure depending on the OEM part revision. The actual usable energy is 44.28Wh as rated on this cell. After one full calibration cycle, Windows Battery Report will reflect the measured capacity of the new cell rather than the EEPROM-declared figure.
The FZ-G1R stops charging at 80% and will not go higher — is the new battery faulty?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Panasonic's firmware on the FZ-G1 platform includes a battery conservation mode that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Check the Panasonic Battery Recalibration Utility or the BIOS power settings under "Battery Charge Mode" and switch it from Conservation to Normal to allow a full charge to 100%.
