My Flex 10 shuts down suddenly with 25% still showing — did I get a faulty cell?
Almost certainly not. The fuel gauge IC is still using calibration points from the old cell, so the percentage on screen does not match the actual voltage of the new one. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the gauge expects and the protection circuit cuts power. The Flex 10 shows the wrong Wh rating in system info after the battery swap — is something wrong?
No. The Wh figure shown in Device Manager or Lenovo Vantage is read from EEPROM data embedded in the battery, and the value stored there can differ slightly from the actual chemistry spec of the new cell. This is a data field mismatch, not a capacity or safety issue. The correct rated capacity for this cell is 24.42Wh — if the displayed figure is close to that, the cell is functioning as expected.
