Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo K920 / VIBE Z2 Pro — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL223)
This is a 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Lenovo K920, K7, and VIBE Z2 Pro smartphones. OEM part number BL223. It fits directly into the existing battery bay and connects to the stock charge management circuit.
- K920 and VIBE Z2 Pro compatibility: The K920 and VIBE Z2 Pro share the BL223 footprint, connector pinout, and 3.8V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake on these models does not require a coded cell — the charge IC authenticates via voltage profile and thermistor, not a serial negotiation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a K920 test unit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge from both USB and the onboard fast-charge path. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff during a full discharge cycle with no false shutdowns above 3.2V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the K920 after a cell swap
The K920's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve learned from the original cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC underestimates remaining capacity and hits a voltage cliff earlier than the percentage shown on screen. Under modem or display load, the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold — usually around 3.2V — before the OS gauge reaches zero. One full slow discharge-charge cycle resets the learned curve and stops these early shutdowns.
Device not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the BL223 cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent cell damage and will refuse to pass current to the device. The phone will show no response — no charge indicator, no boot attempt. Connect to a wall charger rather than a USB port and leave it for 20–30 minutes; the charger's higher current floor is more likely to wake the BMS than a low-output USB port. Once the cell recovers to around 3.0V, the phone will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My K920 shows 25% battery and then shuts off with no warning — is this the replacement cell or the phone?
This is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The K920's coulomb counter is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old degraded battery, so it misreads the new cell's voltage under load. When the modem or screen draws hard current, the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold — around 3.2V — before the percentage on screen reaches zero. Run one full slow discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without fast charging, and the gauge will recalibrate.
Fast charging stopped working on my K920 after I swapped in the new BL223 — the phone just trickle charges now.
On the first cycle with a new cell, the K920's charge IC sometimes defaults to a conservative current limit because the coulomb counter has no learned data for the new cell's impedance. This is normal behaviour — the IC is protecting an uncalibrated cell from overcurrent. Complete one full standard charge cycle first. Fast charging typically resumes on the second or third cycle once the IC has enough data points to accept higher current safely.
The back of my K920 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — should I stop charging?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several cycles. Higher impedance means more energy converts to heat during the initial charges before the cell's resistance drops through normal use. The warmth should be moderate and reduce after three to five charge cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or triggers a charge-pause warning on screen, stop the charge and check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and adds heat.
