Charging docks on the HS6578 platform use contact resistance to confirm a valid pack is seated. If the gold pogo pins on the cradle or the contact pads on the battery are contaminated with dust or oxidation, the dock reads elevated resistance and flags a charging fault. This is not a battery fault — the pack itself is fine. Wipe both sets of contacts with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and confirm the charge LED changes state within 10 seconds.

During a fast scan sequence, the HS6578 draws current simultaneously from the imager and the wireless radio. That combined inrush can cause a brief voltage sag on a cell that is below 3.5V. When the cell voltage sags, the BMS may interrupt output for a fraction of a second — enough to drop the wireless session. This does not mean the battery is faulty. Keep the pack charged above 50% during high-frequency scanning runs, and the sag stays within the BMS tolerance window.
