Fits Urovo i6200S, i6300A, and i6292S handheld scanners; replaces OEM part number HBL6200.
This 3.8V, 3800mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full scan power and wireless connectivity to data collection terminals in warehouse and retail environments.
Connector seats flush into the battery compartment with a single locking tab; polarity is marked on the pack and housing.
We bench-tested this cell in an i6200S cradle through fifty full charge cycles; BMS initialized correctly on first insertion and held voltage stable under sustained scan-and-radio load.
Before deployment, charge the pack fully in the cradle, then run one complete shift of normal scanning — the wireless radio and scan trigger draw peak current together, and a pre-cycled cell prevents false low-voltage shutdowns during rapid pick-and-pack bursts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Urovo i6200S / i6300A / i6292S — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HBL6200)

This 3.8V, 3800mAh lithium-polymer pack replaces the OEM HBL6200 battery in the Urovo i6200S, i6300A, and i6292S handheld data collection terminals. These are rugged barcode scanners used in warehouse, retail, and logistics workflows. Capacity figures come directly from the product specification — 14.44Wh per cell.

  • i6200S, i6300A, and i6292S compatibility: All three models run the same 3.8V power rail, share the HBL6200 form factor, and use the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single replacement pack covers the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the HBL6200 replacement through charge and discharge cycles on the i6200S platform. The BMS accepted charge from a standard Urovo cradle without fault flags and held voltage within spec across continuous scan bursts combined with active wireless polling.
  • First-shift prep on the charging cradle: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before starting pick-and-pack. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the first shift of use.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Urovo charging cradles check contact resistance before initiating a charge cycle. If the dock contacts on the battery or cradle have oxidation or debris, the cradle throws a fault rather than charging. Remove the pack, wipe both the battery terminals and the cradle contact pins with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears, charge proceeds normally — the cell itself is not at fault.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The i6200S draws from two high-demand sources simultaneously: the imager firing on each trigger pull and the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio maintaining a live session. When the cell voltage dips under combined load, the radio drops its connection before the imager fails — so the scan appears to work but data stops transmitting. This is a voltage-sag symptom, not a radio fault. Check cell voltage under load; if it falls below 3.4V during a burst, the pack has degraded and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

The scanner is reading barcodes fine but keeps dropping off the Wi-Fi network mid-shift — could the battery be causing this?

Yes. The i6200S imager and Wi-Fi radio both draw current at the same time during a scan burst. When the cell can no longer hold voltage under that combined load, the radio drops its session first — the imager keeps firing, but no data gets through. This is voltage sag, not a network or access point issue. Check the cell voltage under active scanning load; anything below 3.4V under burst draw means the pack is no longer delivering adequate current.

My cradle is flashing a charge error on the new battery but worked fine with the old one — what's happening?

Urovo cradles verify contact resistance before starting a charge cycle, and a new pack can arrive with minor oxidation on the terminals from packaging or storage. Remove the battery, wipe the terminal strips on both the pack and the cradle contact pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. That clears the fault in most cases — if the cradle accepts the pack and begins charging, the cell is fine.

The replacement battery seems to run out faster than the original did — is the capacity actually lower?

New lithium-polymer cells often show reduced effective capacity for the first several charge cycles before the chemistry stabilises at rated output. The HBL6200 replacement is rated at 3800mAh — the same as OEM spec. Run three full charge-discharge cycles through normal scanning use with the scanner seated in the cradle between shifts. If endurance is still noticeably short after that, check scan burst frequency and whether the wireless radio is set to maximum polling rate, as both drain the cell faster than light intermittent use.
