Fits Psion 7525, 7525C, 7527 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part 1050494, WA3006, WA3020, WA3025.
Delivers 3.7V at 3300mAh capacity; sustains continuous scan and wireless polling during multi-hour warehouse shifts.
Connector slides straight into scanner slot with positive terminal facing outward; locking tab seats flush against housing.
We bench-tested this cell in a 7525 cradle through fifty charge cycles; BMS accepted the handshake on dock contact and held voltage under simulated burst-scan load without early cutoff.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Psion 7525 / 7527 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WA3006)

This 3.7V, 3300mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Psion 7525, 7525C, and 7527 mobile data terminals. It matches the original cell format, connector, and BMS communication spec. Part numbers WA3006, WA3020, WA3025, and 1050494-002 all cross to this pack.

  • 7525 / 7525C / 7527 platform compatibility: These three terminals share the same battery bay geometry, 3.7V single-cell architecture, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack fits across the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a 7525C unit and cycled it through full charge, scan trigger inrush, and wireless polling loads. The BMS held voltage within spec and did not trip under combined draw.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and let it complete a full charge cycle before using it in pick-and-pack. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Cradle showing charging error on a new pack

Psion cradles read pack state through the battery contacts before initiating a charge cycle. If contact resistance is too high — from dust, oxidation, or an unlocked latch — the dock returns a charging error even when the pack is healthy. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly until the latch clicks, and check that the charge indicator activates. If the error clears within 30 seconds, contact resistance was the cause.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The 7525 draws from the same cell for both the wireless radio and the scan trigger simultaneously. During rapid scan bursts, combined inrush can pull cell voltage below the BMS floor, causing the radio to drop before the scanner itself powers off. This appears as intermittent disconnection rather than a full shutdown. If it happens consistently mid-shift, check that the pack is starting the shift at full charge — 4.2V at the pack terminals — and that the wireless polling interval is not set shorter than necessary in the device config.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Psion 7525 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — imager powers on but scans fail

The imager and laser module need stable voltage above a minimum threshold to fire correctly. If the new pack was installed near-depleted, the cell voltage may be too low to sustain the scan trigger draw even though the screen stays on. Seat the scanner in the cradle, charge it fully, then retry — a cell at 4.2V at the terminals will sustain the imager through a normal scan cycle without dropout.

The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous scanning — is that a battery issue?

In an enclosed housing like the 7525, sustained scan trigger draw plus constant wireless polling generates heat at the cell and the radio module together. The pack itself running warm is normal under that combined load, but if the housing becomes too hot to hold comfortably, check whether background wireless polling is more frequent than the job requires — reducing polling interval cuts radio draw and lowers heat output without affecting scan performance.

This battery isn't lasting as long per shift as our old packs did — what actually drains it fastest?

On the 7525, wireless radio polling is the largest continuous drain — it runs even when the trigger isn't being pulled. Scan burst frequency is the second factor, since each trigger pull spikes current draw. If shift endurance has dropped, check the wireless polling interval in the terminal settings and confirm the pack is starting each shift at a full charge from the cradle rather than a partial top-up.
