Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Optimus L50 / Leon Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-41ZH)
This is a 3.8V, 1900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LG Optimus C40, Optimus L50, Leon, and Leon 4G smartphones. It uses OEM part numbers BL-41ZH, BL-41ZHB, EAC62378407, and EAC62778201. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer carry the phone through a normal day of calls, messages, and apps.
- Leon and Optimus series compatibility: These models share the same removable battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all pulling from a common 3.8V cell platform. One part number covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an Optimus L50 and monitored BMS cutoff behaviour through full charge and discharge. The protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage threshold, and charge acceptance was stable across three consecutive cycles.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Leon after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under modem and screen load near the bottom of its range. The phone's power management firmware sees the voltage collapse and triggers an emergency shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. One complete discharge cycle — draining to auto-off, then charging to 100% uninterrupted — resets the coulomb counter reference and corrects the premature cutoff.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement
A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC compensates by pushing slightly more voltage during the constant-current phase, which generates more heat than you'd see on a cycle-worn cell. This is normal for the first one or two charges and settles as the cell's impedance drops with use. If the phone stays warm beyond the second full charge cycle, check that the battery contacts are fully seated and no debris is trapped in the bay.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LG Leon shows 25% battery and then just shuts off with no warning — is the new battery defective?
The battery is not defective. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so when the new cell's voltage drops sharply under modem or screen load near the bottom of its range, the phone triggers an emergency shutdown before the displayed percentage catches up. Run one full uninterrupted discharge cycle — let the phone drain to auto-off, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.
My Optimus C40 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Extended storage can drop a Li-ion cell below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell to prevent damage, and the phone cannot power on. Plug the phone into a wall charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charger trickle-feeds current through the BMS recovery threshold. If the screen shows a charging indicator after that period, the BMS has re-initialised — continue charging to 100% before first boot.
The battery percentage on my LG Leon jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly shows 80%, then drops to 45%.
Erratic percentage readings mean the fuel gauge IC has not yet established a reference baseline for the new cell's discharge curve. The IC uses historical charge and discharge data to estimate state-of-charge, and that data still reflects the old cell. Perform two complete discharge-to-full-charge cycles without interrupting the charge mid-way. After the second cycle, the coulomb counter will have enough data points to track the new cell accurately and the jumping will stop.
