Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu Blue Charm Metal / Meilan Metal — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BT50)
This is a 3.8V, 3100mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the BT50 battery in the MeiZu Blue Charm Metal, Meilan Metal, Blue Charm Metal Dual SIM TD-LTE, and M57A. It restores power to the processor, display, and wireless radios when the original cell has degraded past useful capacity. Voltage and dimensions match the OEM cell exactly: 72.65 × 62.85 × 4.25 mm.
- Blue Charm Metal / Meilan Metal platform fit: These model variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol — the BT50 part number covers all of them without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Blue Charm Metal unit. The BMS accepted charge immediately, voltage held steady under display and modem load, and no thermal anomalies appeared at the charge IC.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and complete one full discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Blue Charm Metal after a cell swap
A fresh Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage cliff near the bottom of its discharge curve than a worn original. The Blue Charm Metal's modem and display draw current spikes that pull the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS percentage gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still reading state-of-charge from the old cell's stored curve, so the reported percentage and actual cutoff voltage don't match. One complete calibration cycle — full discharge to automatic shutdown, then uninterrupted charge to 100% — corrects the mapping and pushes the shutdown point back toward 5–8%.
USB fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
On first insertion of a new BT50 cell, the charge IC on the Blue Charm Metal may not negotiate the proprietary fast-charge protocol because the BMS hasn't yet completed its initialisation handshake with the phone's PMIC. The phone will charge at standard 5V/1A instead of the higher-current rate. Disconnect the cable, power the phone off and back on fully, then reconnect — this resets the PMIC negotiation sequence. After one standard-rate charge cycle completes, fast charging typically activates on the next plug-in.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MeiZu Blue Charm Metal powers off at around 25% after fitting a new BT50 — is the battery faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. A new Li-Polymer cell has a sharper voltage drop near depletion than your worn original, and the fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's discharge curve to estimate percentage. The reported 25% and the actual cutoff voltage no longer line up. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard rate — the coulomb counter recalibrates and the early shutdown stops.
The Blue Charm Metal screen flickers or the phone restarts briefly when the modem switches between 4G and 3G — happened right after fitting the replacement cell.
This is a voltage sag symptom. During a band-switch, the modem pulls a current spike that momentarily drops cell voltage. A new, uncalibrated cell with a high internal impedance in its first few cycles can't suppress that sag fast enough, so the PMIC briefly under-volts. The fix is to let the cell complete three to five full charge-discharge cycles — internal impedance drops as the cell conditions, and the sag narrows. If it persists past five cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the flex cable isn't pinched.
The Blue Charm Metal won't turn on at all after the BT50 sat in a drawer for several months before I installed it.
A Li-Polymer cell stored uncharged self-discharges over time. If it dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charge input to prevent thermal runaway on a deeply discharged cell. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC applies a low-current trickle that slowly raises cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold; once it crosses roughly 2.8V, the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes.
