Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Optimus G2 Mini D620 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-59UH)
This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LG Optimus G2 Mini and its D620 variants. It fits the D620, D620R, and D620J among other models in the series. Capacity is 5.92Wh — identical to the original BL-59UH specification.
- D620 series compatibility: The D620, D620R, D620J, and related variants all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell fits the whole D620 line without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a D620 unit. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge IC accepted the cell, and no error flags triggered during the test sequence.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle without interruption. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge controller begins applying higher current on subsequent cycles.
Why the G2 Mini reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The G2 Mini uses a coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC to track charge state. That counter is calibrated against the original cell's internal resistance and discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the old calibration data no longer matches the actual cell behaviour. The IC overcorrects or undercorrects its percentage estimate until it has completed at least one uninterrupted full cycle. After that cycle, the reported percentage stabilises and tracks the true charge state accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load from the modem or display — the fuel gauge reads 20–30% but the cell can't sustain voltage when current demand spikes. The BMS trips a low-voltage cutoff to protect the cell before the gauge catches up. A full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the IC, but if shutdowns continue after two cycles, check that resting voltage after a full charge reaches at least 4.15V. If it doesn't, the cell may have been stored below 2.5V and needs a slow recovery charge before normal use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My G2 Mini shuts off at around 25% and jumps back to 18% when I restart it — is the battery faulty?
The cell isn't necessarily faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so its percentage estimate diverges from actual cell voltage under modem and screen load. When the cell can't sustain voltage during a spike, the BMS cuts power before the gauge hits zero. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. If the shutdowns continue after two full cycles and resting voltage after charge is below 4.15V, the cell took damage from deep storage discharge.
The G2 Mini isn't powering on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — did it brick the phone?
A cell stored uncharged for months can drop below 2.5V, which triggers a BMS lockout to prevent unsafe charging. The phone won't power on because the BMS is blocking current to the board. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will slowly trickle current into the cell until it rises above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, at which point normal charging resumes.
Fast charging worked fine before the battery swap, but now it only charges slowly — what changed?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the G2 Mini defaults to a conservative current profile because the BMS on the new cell has no charge history. This is normal behaviour — it's not a fault with the charger or the phone. Complete one full charge to 100%, then disconnect and let the phone run down naturally before charging again. After that second charge cycle, the IC accepts the cell's impedance profile and fast charging resumes at normal current.
