Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Q70 / K50S Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-T45)
This is a 3.85V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer replacement cell for the LG Q70, K50S 2019, X540EMW, LMX540HM, and over 36 compatible variants. It matches OEM part numbers BL-T45 and EAC64578501. If the original cell is swelling, dropping to empty by midday, or shutting off unexpectedly, this is the direct swap.
- Q70 / K50S platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The fuel gauge IC reads cell state-of-charge over the same communication line, so the replacement cell integrates without firmware conflicts across the listed variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Q70 unit through charge and discharge under screen-on, modem-active, and idle load conditions. The BMS held cutoff correctly at both ends and did not trigger false overvoltage protection during USB charging at 5V/2A.
- First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the LG Q70 after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still mapped to the old cell's voltage curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or display load before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the minimum sustainable load threshold. One full slow discharge-to-cutoff followed by a full charge corrects the coulomb counter and eliminates premature shutdowns.
USB-PD or fast charge not engaging on the first cycle after replacement
Some LG Q70 units will only negotiate fast charge once the BMS has completed one standard charge cycle on a new cell. The charge IC is conservative — it defaults to 5V/0.5A until it confirms cell impedance is within expected range. Charge once at standard rate using the stock cable and charger. On the second cycle, fast charge resumes at the normal handshake voltage, typically confirmed when the charge LED changes colour or the notification shows "Charging rapidly."

Frequently Asked Questions
My LG Q70 powers off at around 25% battery — why does it keep doing this after I put in a new cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the Q70 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage under load. When the modem or screen pulls current, the actual cell voltage drops below the safe floor before the percentage display reaches zero. Run one complete slow discharge until the phone powers off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. That resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve.
The battery percentage on my Q70 jumps around erratically — it went from 60% to 40% in two minutes, then climbed back up.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it has no history with yet. The coulomb counter loses accuracy when the reference curve from the old cell no longer matches the new cell's impedance and voltage behaviour. It is not a fault with the replacement cell itself. Complete two full slow charge-discharge cycles without interruption and the percentage readings will stabilise as the IC builds an accurate state-of-charge map.
The back of my Q70 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after fitting the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC works harder to push current through it in the first few cycles. The warmth is the resistive loss across that higher impedance, not a fault in the cell or charger. It reduces after three to five full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to hold or the charger disconnects and reconnects repeatedly, check that the connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and amplifies heat at the joint.
