Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu Note 9 / M1923 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA923)
The BA923 is a 3900mAh (15.02Wh) lithium-polymer cell that fits the MeiZu Note 9, M923Q, and M1923 smartphones. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and connects to the same fuel gauge and charge IC on the mainboard. Voltage is 3.85V nominal — match that before installing.
- Note 9 / M923Q / M1923 platform fit: These three model numbers share the same PCB layout, battery connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all three variants without wiring or adapter changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the MeiZu charge IC and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly. The protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff and reset cleanly on reconnection.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve for the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated state-of-charge register.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BA923 after installation
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff under modem and display load than the old cell did at the same state-of-charge percentage. When voltage drops below the mainboard's minimum rail under load, the phone cuts out even though the gauge still reads 20–30%. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard current — no fast charge — forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at falsely high percentages stop.
USB fast charge not activating after a cell swap on the Note 9
MeiZu's proprietary fast charge protocol requires a BMS handshake before the charge IC ramps current above the standard 5V/1A envelope. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS may not complete that handshake on the first charge attempt, so the adapter defaults to slow charging. Disconnect the charger, let the phone sit powered on for two minutes, then reconnect. If fast charge still does not activate after one full cycle, check that the USB-C port is clean — debris in the connector breaks the data lines the charge IC uses to negotiate current.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MeiZu Note 9 percentage keeps jumping around after I put in the new battery — is it broken?
It is not broken. The fuel gauge IC on the Note 9 mainboard stores a discharge curve calibrated to your old cell. When you install a new cell, the coulomb counter does not recognise the new curve and recalculates state-of-charge erratically. Run one full discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle, the gauge locks onto the new curve and percentage readout stabilises.
The Note 9 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
If a lithium-polymer cell sits uncharged long enough, cell voltage drops below 2.5V and the BMS latches into lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to the power button and may not show a charging indicator. Connect the original MeiZu charger — not a third-party adapter — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without touching anything. The charge IC applies a trickle pre-charge below the BMS lockout threshold; once cell voltage climbs above 3.0V the BMS releases and normal charging resumes.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges — is that a fault?
Warmth during early charging on a new high-impedance cell is normal and expected. A fresh lithium-polymer cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more heat per amp delivered during the first few cycles. Keep the phone out of its case for the first two or three charges to let heat escape. If the back becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or charging stops unexpectedly, check that the battery connector is fully seated flat against the socket, since a partial connection raises contact resistance further.
